Went to an autocross event with my 68 last weekend. Car was performing like a slot car until the right front camber eccentric worked loose. That was it for the day. The alignment shop reset it all for me, but what can I do to prevent a similar occurrance next month? Is tack welding really the best bet, or is there some less invasive method?

Dont they have those eccentric eliminators? They are sqaure and have multiple holes in them to set the angles you need... then tighten and forget about it.

check out the crossmember from www.cobraautomotive.com it has tabs to keep the eccentrics from slipping. or get yourself a copy of the boss 302 handling guide, it has the dimensions and stuff for you to make your own

promotorsports in sandy utah has the eccentric eliminators. they just bolt in place of the eccentrics. if you want to go the cheap route, you can tack weld the eccentrics in place. that way they can still be broken loose for alignment settings. or you can weld them permentantly and use the older tried and true method of using shims to align the front end.

I have a set of the Eccentric Eliminators. They are awesome, I would reccomend them.

Also, I am interested in the boss 302 handling guide. Where can it be found? I tried google real quick, no dice. Is it on paper only or?????

Excellent. So it will be a small tack weld to get me thru the next couple of events, followed by the flat sided replacement. Thanks again, guys!
