Ive come to realize that people mod cars for different reasons..

I've noticed this everywhere and with different kinds of car owners. It may also help that I'm in college too.
One time I went to a Friday night cruise in my '95 and my roommate brought his '96 GT. Well his friend was supposed to bring his '96 Cobra but instead called and said he was hanging out with friends. That's wasn't the first time I realized it with that kid, he also hardly washes the Cobra, and he never really talks cars when I see him.
My other roommate bought a '99 GT in October and hasn't modded it yet, despite talking about how he will. He did buy a 60" DLP tv since buying the car. That would've never happened with me.

Personally, I'm missing a trip to DC with friends this summer because I need to finish the '66 instead of spend money on a trip.

There is a comercial on TV about the guy that would rather spend all day Saturday on the garage floor on his back working on his car than inside and comfortable on the sofa........that about sums it up for me and really depicts what its all about.

My car has been the best girlfriend I've had, almost the only one haha! Sometimes I feel like Im too into cars and that I should be interested in more. But really the only thing I have a productive interest in is cars. Theres nothing more satisfying than getting complimentson my car and what I have done to her.

There are a hundred options for affordable performance cars out there....i drive a Fox because it's a love affair :D

There are some cars i'd rather have, but they're just not realistically in my budget, like say a Pantera, or an AMC AMX, or even a vintage 'stang.

I can't help but look at the title of this thread and think..."No kidding."

No offense intended, of course, but was hard to see before that some people are really into cars, some just think they're cool, and some like to play moderately?

At 19 years old, cars and bikes are what keep me from spending my money on useless crap. I don't smoke, I don't drink, and I don't have 100 pairs of pre-ripped $50 jeans from Hollister like most younger people these days. Going fast just does a lot more for me than any drug ever will. My car may not be anything special right now, but I haven't owned it for long, and I'm modding it as money allows.

I also love my car more then alot of things. Actually everything lol. All of my money goes into my car (except lately alot has also gone into the GF) and i like making things for it myself or doing things myself, like welding my own exhaust or makin my own nitrous switch panel. Its an addiction!!

i spend way too much time, money, and effort on my car to get smashed or high or watever.. And i literally grew up in my car and so for that simple fact i am stuck with it for life. i do not brag or show off with my car because i appreciate it and nobody else has to.

I mod my car because I enjoy doing it (sometimes, exception being the nightmare intake swap, and this h/c could get ugly) and because I am a serious car enthusiast. However, I also enjoy drinking and having fun with friends, and I have done the green stuff in the past. However, cars is my passion, and thats whats gonna keep me going when were all married and on lockdown lol.

I have owned 6 foxes now, 4 of which received serious build ups. Price tag on my latest fox project is going to come in around 35k.

For the money I have into these cars, I could have bought a Vette, a Viper, classic Mustang, Classic Camaro or whatever, but I still build and drive foxes.

I can't explain my love for the little 80s car that could.

i dont do it to be cool i like the sound and feel of the stang.

my car isnt the cleanest, but i always get alot more looks and comments on my car than any other stang. i duno what it is, maybe people see me work on it alot but i guess they see something.

my car is like a part of me in a way. i have literally sweat and blood into it and so far i am happy with what i have.

first off i have to say, its difficult building a car with everytihng i have in my mind that i want to do to it, due to the fact that cash and time are devoted to school. i figure id rather wrok hard now so i can play later.

as being a car guy, i have always been into cars. Every type, every brand, even hondas and japanese cars, but the mustang, specifically the fox is relatie to me due to the fact that i always have had a budget and its the perfect hot rod for me. second mustang in a year and a half and 3rd car. 93 notch baby, getting paint this summer, and yes its a DD

i have been working in autobody shops since the age of 13, and still do it (18 now), when i am home from college. Currently just worked on a 58 f-100 prostreet (502 cubic inches of chevy) and a 94 Galant VR-4. I mean i do it for the cash. but i get a joy out of working on special cars like these. its not work to me, its hobbies i get paid for. but then u have the ugly aztec that needs its quarter pulled. ugh.

cash rules everything around me, cream, get the money, dollar dollar bill ya'll
