Damn. This really is fun. My 68 has finally turned into the car I started dreaming about at age 14. I'm now 42 and have matured just enough to raise a family, but still enjoy burnt rubber, V8 stereo exhaust, and some loud AC/DC.

Thanks for all of the help to make it come true.

Funny you should say that.

Yesterday a guy was asking me about my car, I told him I had a 65 Coupe when I was 16, and was doing to this car what I never could afford to do to the first one.

I`m 40, and burning rubber is way up on my list of things to do too.

I am 35 and am putting the finishing touches on my dream car as well. I can't wait to smell that burning rubber. I just have to count my blessings and really appreciate the fact I have my dream car a car at my age. Isn't it great?!

I also want to thak all you who have helped me. Kudos to all you. :nice::hail2:

I'm 62 my neighbor is 58 we burn rubber all the time!!! I remember going to the ford dealer on the day mustangs were introduced, they had a white convertible w/ red interior, standard transmission v8 on the showroom floor, I also remember going to another Ford dealership and seeing a new Shelby gt-350 on their back lot. I have a 65 coupe I've always wanted one & now I have it, It's been a lot of fun to work on & drive.

I'll be 50 in December and still haven't grown up. When I took delivery of my 06 Mustang GT two years ago, the first thing I did was pull around to the front of the dealership, stop in the middle of Main Street and do a burnout in the front of the showroom window .:nice: Everyone there still remembers that. In addition to that car, I've got my 77 Comet with the 331 sixpack and my V8 89 Ranger. :rlaugh: And fond memories of the big block 67 fastback Stang I had in the 80's. :D

I'm a young 48 and just like D.Hearne, when I took delivery of the 03 Mach 1 (on the wife's birthday) I did a big smokey burnout right in front of the dealership. Did the same thing when I picked up my 06 F350 Powerstroke. The boys at the dealership are just waiting to sell another vehicle to see the show. The 68 GT Fastback I am presently building for the wife is being built for all around fast fun, and lots of tire smoke. You're only as old as you feel, and in my mind I sure feel young.
David.

I turn 50 tomorrow with the same story. My third Mustang but one I have had for over 30 years. Das bought it from the original owner in our hometown who still wants it back. I am Autocrossing it tomorrow with my son who drives an S2000, that I beat last time...

36 here and love doing smokey burnouts a la John Force LOL. The highlight of finishing my '68 was doing a sanctioned burnout while leaving the local Ford Dealership after a Mustang show.

Also after getting new wheels/tires installed on the '68 the whole crew at Discount Tire came out and demanded a burnout...who am I to disappoint? LOL That was a fun one

same here, i sold my 65 mustang back in 92 to make sure my daughter could eat. My wife and daughter got me a new one for fathers day. So as a family we will work to get this one in great shape. Here is a pic of here, i purchased it from the original owner. I got lucky with this find, i only see two places where there is surface rust.

Ill be 57 next week had the mach for 12 yrs and decided to replace the tired old motor and go for more poke 2 yr project front to back, no traction no problem :D.
first timer to the drag strip 4mths ago. restoring a 69 convertable for when i just want to cruise.

Glad to see I'm in good company. I'm 46 and have a car that I probably should be glad I didn't have back in high school (might not be here now if I did). Burning rubber? Oh, yeah! Installed a line loc and I am in the process of installing converting my windshield washer pump to spray my rear tires w/ water for even better burnouts!! I don't even take my car to the track, all for the street. I don't care how old I get, I'm 17 again w/ a big stupid grin on my face everytime I do it!!! How great is life!:nice:
