Just got done installing these babies on my stock h-pipe and I'm actually quite impressed. They weren't as loud as I was predicting (I assume because of the stock piping), but one thing I wasn't expecting was the increase in throttle response and high end acceleration. As soon as I pulled it off the pit, I got on the road and laid into first gear and the car put me in my seat... Something it wasn't capable of doing before as the engine is completely un-modified aside from a K&N air filter. So I continued driving it around and let it warm up to normal operating temperatures and it still moved just as quick. Figured it was maybe just in my head, so I let my buddy drive it as well, and he also said it felt alot more responsive. Anybody else had experience with these mufflers giving a noticeable performance increase? But anyway, back to the main point, I'd recommend these mufflers to anyone looking for something that isn't too high pitch as they are alot deeper than the standard 40's, but still have that 40 series growl around 2,000 - 2,500 RPM and at idle.

Did you do the full catback or just have the mufflers installed on your stock pipes?

How do you know that the Super 40s sound deeper than the regular 40s? Also, are your Super 40s the same length as the stock mufflers? How much did it cost you to have them installed? I'm thinking about doing the same.

I just did the mufflers on the stock exhaust system, so I bought the 2.25" OS inlet/OS outlet. But the strange thing was that the inlet and outlet were much larger than the stock piping. So we just cut four slots in the inlet/outlet, closed them down a bit, then welded them back up once we tacked the mufflers on. I bought the mufflers from partshopper.com at about $75 apiece and had them welded in by a good friend who owns a welding shop for free. I did call Meineke though, and they wanted like $100 - $150 for labor. Also the mufflers were about 2" - 3" shorter than the stock mufflers, but there was plenty of piping to play with. Just make sure you cut the factory mufflers as close as possible to the inlet and outlet. The total time it took us was about 2 hours. Probably could be done a bit quicker by someone who's performed this before or does this professionally. And I know they're deeper than the regular 40's because of the sound clips that www.mustangexhaust.com supplied. Great helpful site, by the way.

Hmmmm.....I'm thinking the Dynomax Bullets I have in the garage won't work then. The inlet/outlets on those are 2.5".

Alright guys, I'll try to get you some sound clips, but I'm going to have to find a friend who has a digital camera or something for me to record with. And I should probably wait a week or so for them to break in, like ChrisWorrell said they would do. So have patience with me!
