Hey all, looking for some suggesstions on what to get next to pick up some speed on my 94 Cobra since it is going into the shop for install of MM full length subframes, FRPP 3.73 gears and FRPP aluminum driveshaft in 6 weeks. Let's say I have about $500 to drop. Any suggestions would be awesome. I'm currently running mid 13's at the track. Thanks for all help.

One thing to help your E/T's would be a set of D/R's for the back to help you hook at the track. You could also do a H/C/I (but that may be more than $500 depending on which parts you go with, for less cost, you could have your stock heads and intake(s) ported and get a mild cam).

i cant really comment on mine since they were on the car when i got it, so i never got to notice the gains or anything. they are only shorty headers, if i ever decide to redo my exhaust, longtubes will definately be on my wish list

Aaron, what kind of times are you pulling in the 1/4?

Haven't pulled it down the track, but I'm assuming that I'd probably be in the range of rgs, but more around the 14 second flat area, if I was a good driver. My intake is only a GT manifold ported, so I wouldn't have the airflow that he's got. However, I'm a little bit stiffer in the suspension area.

I would definitely recommend long tubes if you're gonna spend a lot of time at the track, but shorties if it's more of a daily driver, long tubes, if i'm correct, will hang down lower, and you might end up whacking then down on random road hazards.

MAC Shorties have done well for my car

If your going to do the headers, I wouldn't bother with shorties.. Go straight to longtubes, and an X with some sort of straight through design muffler
( magnaflow, borla, dynomax, ect)

After going through all the bolt on's.. and looking back on them, I would have to say underdrives and the X pipe made the largest gains in power. Although I personally wouldn't fart around with the small stuff.. Just save up a few more$$ and bolt a blower kit, or turbo kit on it. Keep it simple, and quick.

IF HE IS GETTING A DRIVESHAFT PUT IN AT A SHOP, I DON'T QUITE THINK HE CAN DO A H/C/I BY HIMSELF, AND NO WAY GET THE DONE AT A SHOP FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY, NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF PARTS HE USED.
