Well last week I sold my 1992 LX 5.0 with 56k miles I had for 16 yrs to a new owner, who I am sure will enjoy the car. I just wanted something new after all that time.

New is a loaded 2008 Vapor GT 5spd with 3.55's. Got it with every option except Nav. I almost ordered a Bullit, but since the new horse will most likely be modified, I decided the better money was on the GT, especially since incentives are availible on that model .

I am new to the S-197 crowd. I understand the best initial dollar for dollar mod is a CAI and Tune. I also understand these cars do not respond well to cat back exhaust mods, since the factory system flows very well. I know this car will be a serious upgrade over the old Fox Body

Give me feedback on who the good part vendors are etc......

Hope to take possession by late March.

Very nice choice
You are correct on the best/first mod for these cars. Also great first mods are gears and rear suspension for cars seeing the track. Search the Tech forum and you can read for days

Congrats.

I ordered mine in late Jan 06 and got it late march.

Besides a tune, nothing beats drivetrain mods on these cars. 4.10 gears and an aluminum driveshaft are huge.

I like ordering from brenspeed and American Muscle

I have a 2007 GT and love it. I would also love to have a good 1990 to 1992. What's a good Mustang like that sell for these days?

I think your better off with the GT, the bullit is just too plain looking. The 4.6 adapts well to FI, but I think there will be a good aftermarket in the near future for those who want to stay n/a. I just read today on another forum that ford racing is developing a set of cams that won't loose any mid range and will add 27 hp with a cool lope. Well, I guess there developed, there just not on sale yet. I think real soon that 400 hp on all motor will be common place, were getting close now.

Should have just kept the Fox and got the S197 too. I'd never sell my Fox for any car... (Well maybe a F430 Ferrari. )

Actually I had to find it again and turns out that it was in this forum. It's in the 05 and up tech section entitled: brenspeed/comp NSR (no springs required) cams. I may not have all the details exact, but got the just of it. Give it a look over and see what you think.
