Hey guys I can get a good deal on the K&N series II, any thoughts on if I should get this or would it be a waste of money, any thoughts are appreciated thanks.... :flag:

i was just at JBA today and Joe, the guy who does their dyno tuning, told me that the FIPK showed the most gains out of the intakes they tested. so its probably good for something but not really a great mod..so its up to you..your money :)

Thanks for the reply's guys, I probably will go ahead and get it, even if it only gains a few HP, few is better than none.....

you probably would see more from a plenum and TB upgrade which wouldnt cost but a couple more dollars than you are going to spend on just that FIPK , summit has trick flow plenum for $139 and jdsperformance.com has a MAC TB for $120 buck , so thats a total of $259 you would probably gain about 7 to 10 HP and just as much torque from this and probably about 2 hp from the FIPK

Removing air silencer got me nothing on the dyno.

Adding an FIPK-II netted 9.3 rwhp.

02 GT, 5-speed.

Well, this is going to be a miracle. For perhaps the first time in history, I agree with trinity_gt on something. :rlaugh:

The FIPK is worth it. I have it and wouldnt have anything else.

Just my opinion but, I think all you really gain is noise. Since most people associate more noise with more power they believe it is doing more than it truly is. I would just drop in a K&N filter and use the money elsewhere.

What noise are you talking about? I don't notice any noise factor from mine.
Are you speaking from experience with the k&n fipk or just from what you've heard?
