KB VS Centrif.

Thinking about going blower and know a good amount about the weakness of the stock bottem end of the 2v.

Wanted to hear some real opinions about which they believe is better

A 2.1 KB @9psi Intercooled or vortech/procharger @ 8psi with a Air to Air intercooler not the vortech aftercooler.

KB . There have been several threads on this. If you do a search there is plenty of info on here to help you with your decision.

KB will be more stress on the bottom end. But It'll be more fun to drive on the street.

centri will be less stress on the engine, and more pontential at the drag strip. Just depends on how deep your wallets are.

either one will be better than what you have now.

keep it under 425 RWHP and on the rich side and you'll be fine

like most have said it depends what your intentions are. If you want that instant TQ then KB..... if you wan the boost coming in later then the Centri will be you choice

Look at sig on my Cobra. My Dad has a 2007 GT500 stock as a rock. 70-115MPH...I pulled on him 3 out of 3 times. 0-whatever speed we slow down at.....he pulls away fast from 0-50...then 60+ I start reeling him a little bit!! From a 5 or 10 MPH roll to whatever speed....forget it!!! That Eaton just rips like a bat outta hell and he is gone!! The only true test would be the track! His car is definately faster on the street and way more fun. Higher speeds though, I own him.

KB IMO

Well, I've been running a KB on my stock 2000 GT block for 30,000 miles now. I've seen about 20 trips down the track too with this kit. I have a 1.7L KB without an intercooler. I run 8psi most of the time. Runs great on 93 octane. Power is 385rwhp and i get time slips around 12.5. I love it on the street. Pulls hard at any speed. Boost is at 8psi around 2500 rpm and will hit 8.5-9psi on a nice cold day. I've not had one issue with it. I love it. And on the dyno, the power keeps climbing right up to redline, no drop like in roots type blower. Buddy had a vortech with intercooler running 12 psi and it was not near as fun, he was always revving the crap out of it to get into the power. And I love the KB whine.

Roots SC typically produce more strain on the rotating assembly because of how quickly they are able to create boost, especially in the lower rpm bands where the load on the motor is greater than once its moving in the upper rpm band.

I agree with a roots type being more fun on the street. nothing as fun as having 450ft/lbs @ 2000rpm moving through traffic with ease.

I've been in both and maybe I'm partial but I like twin screw. Either one is gonna get you in trouble. Or maybe that's just me.

i have a eaton ( roots ) blower, it makes a ton of torque right off idle.
its a blast to drive on the street. It makes 9lbs. of boost with the pulley I have on it.

I can't complain having over 600rwtq at 3K rpm other than not getting traction. But it's the tires fault, not the blower.

Either one...price is a big deal though. KB is obviously alot more money.

But you have to pay to play. This is how it works usually.

Centri= cheapest cost but ALOT of bang for your buck. Start seeing boost before 3000RPMs usually and it just builds to redline. Better for street WOT runs, because it allows you to get traction and start moving before piling on the power.

TS (KB)= Expensive, but well worth it to everyone who buys them. Instant full power at nearly any RPM...very fun for a weekend car. Traction issues unless you can control the throttle input very well.

good input guys....my main thing is Its my daily driver and i just want some mid to low 12s with my nittos...I had the NX kit for a while loved it but got offered more money than i paid for it...and i have the blower bug.

I want something where i dont have to worry about poppin a piston or snapping a rod....I love KB but scared that the instant shock like my Nitrous was will eventually pop the motor...I dont have the money to build another one.
