Keep 93 Cobra original?

Hi guys. I just picked up a Teal 93 Cobra #4538. This thing is a basket case. Needs pretty much a full Resto. My question is, do I keep it original, or not worry about it?

Looks pretty clean from that picture. Only missing a couple of trims. Just get it running and enjoy.

It's your car. Do with it as you please, and don't worry about what other people think. If I personally had a 93 Cobra or Cobra R, I might modify it to my liking, but I wouldn't do anything irreversible, and I'd keep all of the stock parts. Pragmatically, it's worth more stock.

I’ve always loved that NASCAR engine powered ‘93 Cobra that’s on the interwebz. If the car you bought is already modded to death, I would go nuts with it and not look back. In my opinion, the car doesn’t sound to be very original, so I don’t see it ever fetching good money in stock form again anyway.

Pretty much in pieces. Needs core support, aprons, frame pull, and full repaint. Interior is super dirty but all there, in pieces. Other than seats and door panels it looks like it should clean up. Someone stole upper/lower intake and computer. It sat for 10 years or so apparently so pretty much needs everything gone through.

Whew! Looks like you’ve got some work to do. Why does it look so different in the first pic you posted with it on the trailer than your last couple pics?’ Looks like two totally different cars. What happened to the cobra wheels?

Restore it. It is the only year for the fox cobra, it is a really cool color and if you start the 'I want mo powa' trip it likely will loose it's identity and you will be broke.

I have a 95 cobra vert waiting, it will be mostly stock with a few minor upgrades.
I hope you have the cobra wheels like in the pic, they are by far the coolest stock fox wheels ever seen!

The only things that are missing are upper/lower intakes and computer. The wheels and wing were stolen as well, but the I guy I got it from, got wheels, and a hatch off another teal cobra. It should be on a frame bench in a couple of weeks. Since I have to order aprons, I can’t decide if i go smooth or go with factory Swiss. If I go smooth, then I’m not going to worry about factory. If I go with Swiss, might as well make the whole sandwich. Problem is, I’m too easily swayed in either direction lol.

Well, several years from now when the car is done, what do you see yourself driving around in?

A stock 93 Cobra restoration?

Or a modified Cobra?

Which one will make you happier? Then that's what you should do

I'd say back to original...

For some weird reason the cloth interior cobras are worth more. Smh Wouldn't have ever guessed that. I guess because most people ordered leather.

The rarest is the teal with black interior....but you have teal with gray twead...still not that common.

If it was mine I'd get it as close to stock as I could. I like modified foxes so I'd have to either fix and flip the cobra or buy another car to modify. Probably the latter.

I'd like to have that cobra stashed away somewhere when I'm 80 years old...

Do I dare ask how much you paid for that car?

I only ask because i'd love to find a cobra in similar condition and restore it back to 100% stock. I already have a modified fox, so it's an easy decision for myself what to do. I'd have a blast restoring that car. I'm jealous!
