kenne bell bypass

Does anyone know what the smallest size hole i can get away with for the bypass? I am in the process of making my KB a air to air intercooler and need to make provisions for the bypass. Wondering about maybe drilling the egr hole out that is in the 45 degree elbow and using it since i don't use it anyway. Any thoughts would be great.
