Mine actually rode smoother. It allows the suspension to do its job vs the body flex doing some of it.

Mine still rides uncomfortably stiff. No idea why the PO put H&R Race Springs on it. Dog springs for a street car. Will do something about that at a later time. I have a MM front coil over setup in my ‘shopping cart’ for my MM account with 250lb springs and bilsteins, but haven’t pressed buy yet.

Speaking of paint, I was wanting to freshen up my new edge GT wheels with new silver paint. LMR sells the Pony silver paint (which is what I want), but of course California being California, LMRs website says that product cannot be shipped to California.

I’ve researched a little bit and it sounds like Argent Silver is the color I want… can I buy this at any auto parts store or have a paint shop make me a spray can of this?

Double check this. Go to a paint supply store and get it mixed for you. I've even gotten paint mixed at places that could put it into aerosol cans. Let me know what you find in your area. My Fox is a GM color and I still have a can left over (if it's still any good).

Thank you. I also found this floating around the internet: PPG #8568 for argent silver, is ppg just a brand or is that another paint code as well? I will also definitely use the 2k clear as well.

This is just me but he knows what he painted on there and could damn well tell you. From there is a quick Google search to find the cut sheets on it which will tell you how to top coat it and compatible types of coating.

What struts are on it? If it has OEM type units it will ride like poop for sure. The race springs are way too aggressive for the street. I had the Super Sports with Tokico Illumina struts and the ride was fantastic. Listen to the guys at MM they will make it handle and ride like you want but you have to tell them what you want to do with the car and if it’s a street / track thing there is going to be five and take.

It’s got the Koni orange struts/shocks, but I have no idea how old they are and they weren’t previously paired with the H&R race springs. He put the springs on right before selling me the car.

As mentioned previously in this thread somewhere, I’m starting to think he put parts on this car he just wanted to get rid of as I’m finding a lot of little things done incorrectly or bad parts.

I will definitely be going MM coil overs on bilsteins, just need to save a bit for the $1k+ price tag just for the front. Someone here in a different thread said they had Mm coil overs with 275lb springs and if they could do it over would go 250lb for street use, so that’s probably what I’ll do. For the rear I’ll just find a lower spring rate spring.

I cannot comment on spring rates as I’m running a torque arm so it changes things all the way around.

If you are not driving the car then pull the dampers and springs, clean them up and sell them. Might get enough for half the cost of the rear coil overs.

The orange struts are the SRT’s and a complete set new is around $400 so sell them for $275. H&R Race springs are $350 new so go $250. Offer the dampers and springs as a bundle for $450.

VHT makes an Ford argent silver wheel paint. Should be able to get it at Auto Zone or local parts store. Can't comment on the match, but I bet it's pretty close.

As for the paint on the SFC's everyone would have a different opinion. I use weld through primer (high zinc) between panels that once welded won't be accessible. It's essentially zinc dust suspended in a solvent resin to stick. It's not really meant to be a top coat or exposed primer.

A good example would be between the SFC ears and subframe for instance.. it works great for that. I clean it off before painting because it's not really a high adhesion type coating and wipes off easily with acetone and a rag. Not sure what he used but I doubt he sprayed all that with weld through. It's expensive.

Personally I'd let it dry for a few weeks. Then see if it easily wipes off with a acetone on a rag. If it does just remove it and coat with your choice of paint. If it doesn't easily wipe off, it's probably good enough to top coat. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you, as I’ve been reading more on argent silver I’ve come across some reviews of VHT and it seems the paint color is good but the spray nozzles suck. Could be user error tho, reviews can be hard to trust. I’ll give it a go… worst comes to worst I can sand it a redo with something else.

Ordered my ECU Exchange repair service.

Replaced my cap and rotor. The ones on the car didn't seem too bad, just a little abrasion on the leads but i've seen worse. Next free time slot i'll do plugs (gapped to .050ish) and plug wires.

Another thing i noticed when doing my cap/rotor was my Alternator Stator wire looks all fubar with exposed wires. Will need to order a new pigtail from LMR and splice it in.

You can get 'em at the local parts store.........I got a couple years ago.
That was the first- last time she rode in the Junk Pyle, we stopped at a light and smoke waifed from under the hood...... yes dear, we be on but it's OK, it'll only last a minute........
