Launching Tips/1/4 mile Expectations

I have a Notchback with MAF, Short block 306, GT40 Cast heads, B303 Cam, Cobra upper and lower intake, 65 MM throttle body, roller rockers, frame ties, tremec 3550, 3.55 gears, and a few other things that I probably missed. I was first wondering what I should expect to run in the 1/4 mile and also what RPM is recommended for launching on street tires. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

To get 12's with that combo on street tires would be amazing....but it could be possible. Street tires (non drag radials) are very hard to launch with that kind of power. The best you can probably do is launch at idle and hope for the best, lol.

if your going to drag with AOD when launching off on the green light dont stomp on the peddle full throtle you need to fell the pulling power then you ma**** and you are gone.

5.0 coup is right about an AOD. Im running street radials and I launch by easing into it and then floor it when I feel it hook. But you have to expirement, There are many variables such as track conditons, traction, gears, etc. that its hard to come up with the best way to launch for every car. You just have to play around and see what works best with your car.....

ramjetlx - how the heck did you get a [email protected] 1/4 mile time with only a 2.2 60 foot? Just curious because most guys with similar times have to get about a 1.7-1.8 60 foot with that mph to get that time.
