Les Schwab

I want to know if they can do anything right. I was on my last attempt with them and they messed everything up again. It took them 2 months to get my wheels and tires in then when i went to go pick them up they raised the price $900. That is great business and i hope everyone thinks twice about ever going there again. I hate complaining but i just needed to vent a little more.

I understand...

You should go to a Goodyear Gemini. They have almost the same wheel/tire accounts as Les does. Besides all of those tires that Les sells are made by Goodyear anways. They come from Kelly Springfield who Goodyear owns. LOL!!!

Ya, there are good ones and bad ones. I took my car to the one in Kingcity OR to get the front suspension looked at. They burned rubber down the road on their test drive. I went all the way through the system but nothing happened to the guy. Pissed me off!! I have some friends that work at other stores, and that is where I go now.

I have had terrible experiences with Les Schwab WAY too many times and refuse to do any business with them period. They sell themselves on being so friendly, and free rotation, and free popcorn, blah, blah, blah....let us ruin your tires by siping them for $120 more to distract you while they are bending you over as their prices are rediculous.

Well then i'll add in my complaint stry even tho it's not mine. My old neighbor went to them and had the snow tires swaped. So they loose half of the 8 lugs then in return they leave one off one wheel and put the wrong ones on the others. The other buddy of mine had his skinnies mounted by them so he's watching and they break out the grinder to grind out the holw for the wheel hub, he says WTF and they say well they wont fit! So he says B.S put that thing away and they say well we will just tighten them down with the gun, so they do this and comes to find out they bent the wheel and wont replace it.:nonono: I went to them to get tires for the 95 and they wanted $950 some for them for 2 and i got them from americas tire and 20 locking lugs and GREAT service for $650 out the door! America tire all the way!!!! peace

ok... well my experience is different. Not sure if its because im a girl? I get the BEST service at the LS on 78th and 117th in vancouver and the LS on minnihaha( spelling) in vancouver. However both locations have AFP mustang customers that work at both, I havent been to any other locations. I know 2 stangnet people on here work at LS.

my 2 cents

I hate to say this, but there are good stores and bad stores, sounds like you ran into a bad one, If you arent on your last leg, try my store on 122nd and division. I garuntee you wont have a problem. As far as tires go, a majority of our tires are toyos, and not all of them come from goodyear. Siping is a great way to improve your tires when its done right, and on the correct aplication, a high hp rwd car, or something someones going to drive hard is Not the right aplication, but on a daily driver that you just put around in it will improve the traction and life of the tire, its been proven. I'm sorry you guys have had these problems, working for les schwab, it both pisses me off and makes me wonder why the managers of those stores are still managers. I assure you this is not a company wide thing, and why its still going on, I dont know. Mistakes do happen, but our company is based around the customer, and it pisses me off when people dont take care of the customer regardless of what happened, specially if there fellow stangers ;)

I used to be one of those who didnt care for Les Schwab- working at a dealership it was very common to see people come in with newer cars complaining that Schwab told them they needed shocks, struts, springs, ball joints, tie rod ends, you name it. And then WE had to cover it under warranty, when the parts were not BAD in the first place. But try telling that to a customer that now KNOWS they have a lemon for a car. So yeah, that part I dont like.

As far as customer service on tires and wheels go- they ROCK. It helps to have friends that work there, but I have also dealt with other Schwabs and they have bailed me out of a few nails and other tire issues. I wouldnt take my tires anywhere else.

I personally have had terrible experiences with LS and the last experience I had with them was the final straw. I went in to get my tires rotated and a younger gentleman was in there who was paralyzed from the waist down and driving a very nice WS-6 Trans-Am.

He and I started talking and this guy was a total enthusiest and knew his shiit when it came to cars. About 5 minutes later the LS manager came in and called his name and said infront of EVERYONE that all 4 of his tires were too bald for him to "legally" put back on the car. This guy literally bought the tires about 9 months before from THAT SAME LS, and I looked through the glass at them and they had at least 60% tread left on there.

Well the manager and he got into it and said he "legally" could not put them back on the car and that the only other option they had was to open an account for him to buy new tires and put the tires on credit. He was like then get out of my way and I will put them back on myself. The guy asked twice if they could go somewhere else to talk about it and the manager said no. He then got really irrate and started going off on the manager asking what he is suppose to do as he did not have the money nor did he feel he needed new tires, and it got really ugly as the manager was yelling right back at him. The manager then told him that they were going to put the tires back on his car and that the gentleman was no longer welcome there and was to never bring his car back to their store.

Customer Service my ass.

I had a wheel bearing go out on my car, and had no one here in the area that could have helped me replace it so I took it to LS out near Washington Square. They broke the bracket on my front driver seat, and it would just wobble around. I knew it was fine when I took the car in, so I approached them about it and was pretty much called a liar and that I was trying to get a free seat out of them. The guy pulled everyone out of the shop and asked them if my seat had been damaged under their watch, and of course all of them said no. I asked them if they would really admit to breaking something because of liability purposes and on the way walking back to my car, the original guy was giving me **** over everything and I started to get nasty with him because he was being a dick. He made a personal threat towards me, and I told him to take his best shot because after I was done kicking the living hell out of him, I would also have his job, and I would be contacting an attorney. I called the corporate office and was pretty much told to sod off. I will never do business with that joke of a company ever again, nor will my family, and a lot of their personal friends because we have all been screwed over by them. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but LS once again proved that they are worthless.

The company isnt trying to screw anyone over. Every and I mean EVERY complaint that is called and or written in is recorded in prineville, then sent to the zone manager who looks them over and send them to the manger of each store, If someone screws up, We hear about it big time. I'm not here to convince you to buy only ls, because I honestly could care less where you shop, but when you call where I work and what I do a joke or worthless it gets on my nerves. Its a great company in wich 99% of the people are dedicated to taking care of #1 (the customer), why? because without the customer, the company doesnt exist. Thats the way it was, the way it is, and the way it will be after les is gone.

I had les schwab fix a flat at near ending business hours on a saturday. They woudln't fix the flat unless i paid. Obviously to discourage me to go somewhere else so they could leave on time. Even though I got the tires from them. I told him they usually fix them for free. He says, "well if you came in earlier we would of." Gresham location.

Much love

I go to les schwab in Monroe Washington and I am paranoid no matter where I go, so this is what I do. I stand there while they do the work. I stand in the bay. I watch them very closely. If they decide to go for a test drive, I DRIVE! But they are cool enough and know me well enough as a customer that they let me be paranoid. But no matter who ever touches my car, I am standing right there.

Thank you drive through please.

I am not trying to pick a fight, but I think you are wrong. If they were all about the customer, my seat would have been fixed, I would not have been called a liar, I would have not gotten hung up on by a corporate employee. You yourself may be a respectful person, but as a whole the company has proven themselves to be a complete joke. I am not the only person to think this. You can ask my parents, my sister, a few of my friends, a lot of my parent's friends, some of my parent's co workers, etc... I could give you a list of at LEAST 20 people who have been screwed over by LS, treated like garbage, made to feel like idiots, or shunned over mistakes that LS have made that they would NOT take the responsibility to fix.

Imagine driving a car on the highway, only to find one of your tires flying off the car because the tech was told to hustle due to a busy day so he didn't take the extra care needed to make sure the job was done properly. It happened to a good friend of the family, his car ended up hosed, and LS refused to take responsibility and went on record saying that the owner of the car most likely tampered with his vehicle. I find it hard to believe that someone would purposely loosen their lugnuts and then take their car on the freeway at speeds of 60mph to see if the wheel would fly off or remain in tact.

Do you see where I am going with this? There aren't just a few people who have been treated this way. There is quite an extensive list, as well as people here on these forums who have chimed in about how much LS completely sucks. You yourself may know what you are doing, but one person can't make up for a company filled with idiots.

I had LS put the 35's on my old 4runner and when they did they forgot to torque the lugs on the LF and the wheel came off. I put the wheel on and went to them in the morning because there were 2 studs broke off as a result. They gave me some BS saying that is was my fault and that the tires were too much for a toyota bla bla bla and that I had to pay them to fix it because it would be a liability for me to leave like that. A$$holes. ooh it makes me pissed to this day. Not even so much as a "gee, I'm sorry your ****ing wheel fell off and you may have been killed because we are a bunch of inept ***eating **** for brains ****suckers." I had to threaten them to get them to put 2 new studs in and leave me alone. Americas tire all the way.

Its true. There really are Good Schwabs and bad ones. You can usually tell by just looking at the operation from the street. If there's crap all over the place, the shop is a pit and the employees are walking around with a pissed off look on their face, I just drive by. My experience is not to let the fresh face new kid sell you 1300 dollars worth of tires. Go find a gray beard that's been in the biz for awhile and knows what he's talking about. Also, if you want a specific tire type, brand or tread, don't let them try to convince you to buy somthing thats off the shelf/in stock. They'll try to make you believe that its "equal to/better than" the one you want. One other thing: Brakes. If they say you only have 2mm left on your pads, fine but go get another brake shop to confirm it. Never go looking for a "deal" when it comes to brakes. I learned that the hard way many years ago. The Schwab we have here in Snohomish is a good shop and I've never been boned (that I know of). It helps that a couple of Mustangers work there.

wow, I'm sorry so many people seem to have had bad experiences with the company, I have worked at the Orchard store for a year and half or so and beleave me anybody who argues, or is rude to a customer is in deep shi& or fired right there. I enjoy working with people and am in no way out to screw somebody. It seems that the biggest problem or, mis comunication is that anytime somebody is told we cant "legaly" work on there tires is because for what ever reason, baldtires, wrong style lug nuts, unsafe car, the only reason we do that is that we dont want to be liable when they get in a wreck, you whould be really suprised how many people you tell,.. Sir your front brakes are metal to metal , and they tell you they dont care, or that 'Mam your tires are below 2/32nds the leagl minimum and I'm sorry but we cant rotate your tires and the get very angry and Yell at you ...
