For those of you not running the stock internals, maybe you can share your setups with us.

Specifically I'm looking for what your goals were (performance wise), what your budget constraints were (or other constraints, such as emissions), if you bought the short block outright or if you pieced it together, and where you got everything from.

and obviously most important is what parts went into each combo :D

mine wasn't a 302 build, but my engine guy put this combo together for me:

1990 351 block bored .030 over
Scat forged steel crankshaft
Scat forged H-beam rods
JE Forged aluminum dished pistons
Clevite 77 bearings
Sealed Power Moly Rings

He machined and balanced everything. The goal was over 400 hp and emissions legal.

DSS pro bullit 306 shortblock 2,200-ish shipped to door

Exploder intake-100$, I actually sold 2 of my stock rims to the same guy for 100$ like 2-3 weeks later. HUGE THANKS to Tmoss for porting the lower.

gt40 heads- 400$ first purchased in 99', then 550$ for valvejob, mill, spings. HUGE THANKS to Thumper for porting the heads.

tfs1 cam-160-ish shipped

spent this year cleaning up alot of stuff and re-did the valvetrain geo. this past winter/spring BIG THANKS to Tmoss again for the help on that.

Compucar wet kit I pieced together for 250$.

Hope to get it to a track before they close here. My goals are a fun car that runs at least low 13's to high 12's N/A and who knows with the 150 or 175 shot turned on or 275-290 rwhp N/A and whatever the n2o does...so about 400-425rwhp on the juice.

I put this together while still in school at the University of Missouri St. Louis so budget was cheap. I cannot express how gratefull I am for the help I have gotten from members here no matter what it runs THANK YOU. Its my hobby and I make a point to enjoy it above all.
