I got a set of 351W lightning heads from a boy not to long ago
he said they flowed good as GT40p heads do. Has anyone ever had
a set or know a little about them? How are they?

They are gt40 iron heads with 1/2inch bolt holes... From what ive seen, people seem to go faster with P's, doesnt mean you cant go fast with them though.

Alright thanks man, When the money comes I am going to get them ported, maybe they will flow better then. I have another question I am going to be running a 125 shot of nitrous, I have heard of Nitrous cams, who carries them?

I cant think of any n20 off-the-shelf cams, but i havent researched it really.

If your only running a 125 shot anyways, i dont think its needed.. I would stick with a good solid N/A cam, and throw the small shot(125) on it. If you were going with a 250 shot or something, i would say shoot ed curtis an email on a custom n20 cam..

Are you putting the gt40's on a 351?

Nitrous grind cams are similar to blower cams. Nitrous likes a wide LSA, and there are many OTS blower/nitrous grinds out there. It seems, and this is a generalization, that on a 1.90/1.60 valves head, a typical S/C cam will vary in duration anywhere from +2 to +8 degrees favoring the exhaust side. A nitrous set up can use a much more "lop-sided" grind. Nitrous grinds can go anywhere from +4 to +14 degrees favoring the exhaust.

It makes sense if you think about it. Well, to me it does ....

Thats like getting E7's ported. Why not some alum's. I understand the cash issue but don't waste money on porting, I understand if your going to do it yourself.

What are the duration figures of the cam @ .050" lift? I think it's something like 216/220.

Unless you are running a 28" tire, you are going to run out of gear before the 1/4 mile and you will find yourself backing out of it or using 5th. Assuming you are using a 28" tire, you can run easy mid-high 11.
