looking for a good comb-valve

i need a good combination valve for my 69-4x disc brakes. i don't want adjustable because i simply don't want to fiddel with it. i alreaddy have an adjustable installed and don't really care for it.

a good combo valve would be cool.

i was suggested a svo unit on the vmf. just wondering if any of you have heard of a good valve to use. maybe master power brakes?

Are you talking about a proportioning valve to control pressure bias between the front and rear brakes? I personally prefer the adjustable kind and I don't know anyone that makes a nonadjustable one since all cars/setups are a little different. If you find one I need an adjustable one.....hehehehe, too bad on off of a 90 Mustang wouldn't work I would trade you.

Interesting, you learn something everyday, but with 4Xdisc I don't see the value in that kind of valve....for the money the $30 adjustable kind works great.

this is something i am having a hard time figuring out. how do ypu know you have the correct bias?

I road test mine on a long safe straight stretch. I set the valve in the middle and do a hard stop while travelling in the middle of the road. Usually even at this setting the back brakes lock up first, and if they do you decrease the pressure to the back a little and retest. You keep adjusting it until the front brakes lock up just before the back and you have a safe car.....but you can tune it from here for personal taste....some peole take a little more pressure from the back so they don't lock up at all.....I like mine just at the spot where the fronts lock up just before the backs. Now on a race car you might want less back brakes to prevent skidding in turns where hardbraking is required but I set mine up for the street. Ask Opentracker if you want a race bias....he will definitely know.
