Hey guys,
Used to be a regular on the site, however I got a motorcycle liscense at the end of last summer and... well, that was the end of that :rlaugh: However, it's almost summer, and a motorcycle is just not practical for everything, so I'm getting the stang back in shape. It's a 98 gt, same mods pretty much everybody does. I mostly like it the way it is, I just have to fix a small dent in the left front quarter and detail it, but the one thing I really want to do is lower it; the 4x4 stance is killing me. Since I haven't been around awhile and I'm strapped for time (I know, it's been asked a million times, I should search, I wish I had the time), maybe one of the people who have kept up to date on this stuff or have recently done something like this can answer my quick questions:

1) Not too concerned about performance, just mainly lowering and price somewhat, but what are the best springs out there for what I'm looking for?

2) If I take the car and springs to a shop, how much should I be looking at for an install? I would prefer to not do it myself, and a price estimate would really help me out so that I don't get charged an unnecessary amount.

Thanks in advance!

These are Eibach Sportlines and Tokico illumina's.
The springs are about 210 bucks from stangsuspension, and the shocks/struts are about 450 i think.
and no camber plates. there overrated haha, i know someone is gonna bash on me for that.

as for instalation. your lookin at the 100 bucks for the springs, maybe?? i dunno, i did mine myself, but usually mechanics charge about 65-70 dollars/ hr. so if ur jus lookin at springs, then maybe not too much, but for springs/shocks, maybe a lil more, if not a lot more.

good luck choosing. Im sure you'll figure it'll all out.

Ford Racing Performance Product C springs will give a nice stance, the rear may sit a LITTLE higher than the front though if you dont mind a slight rake. They are around $150 or so from Summit Racing.

Install is easy as long as you have the tools. I did mine with a floor jack and two jack stands.

The rear is pie, the front just takes time to do as you have to un-bolt the calipers and hang them out of the way, lower the control arm down and wrestle the spring out/in.

Its not worth paying someone IMO.

slam that b***h, i have some cheapy springs that were on the car when i bought it, it wasent low enough so i took a grinder to the fronts, monroe struts, no cc plates, i think the springs cost like 100$, the ride quilty aint that bad

Searched around a little on the site, and I was thinking about just getting some cheap maxspeed springs and getting them installed.

Also checking out the ford racing springs as suggested on summit racing, and if I can do it myself I will definitely opt for spending more money on springs. If I have access to a full mechanics garage and can do some basic mechanical things like a PI intake swap, any estimate as to how long it would take to install the springs?

well, your first time will take a while, for me, it took me to do all of it about 7 hrs. but that was my first time figuring things out.
