Lowering Springs...?

i have a 99 mustang v-6, and i want to get some lowering springs, but i have 03 cobra rims currently installed. now for the lowerings springs would i have to get the cobra version, or the v-6 one?....someone please help ive been wondering this for about 3 months

V6 i would think. i'm not positive but i think the difference between v6, gt, and cobra springs is for the weight on each part of the car w/ the differeing engines and whatnot. also if you have a vert it may make a difference.

There are no specific applications for springs/shocks/struts for V6 vs. V8... You'll see GT's mentioned on many web sites because most customers for lowering springs are GT owners, not V6 owners. Many companies sell suspension kits for mustangs that will work on either V6 or V8 without any problem. The weight difference in the front end of the car will make little or no impact on the amount of compression on the higher rated springs most kits come with for the front. More people have issues in the back of the car if they have large after-market audio/video installed with the lower rated springs that are installed in the rear. Cobra setups will not work on your car because the Cobra has IRS.
