I think it's time I clean my air filter. The fact that it needs cleaning is not the isssue really. What I am concerned about is how I re-oil the filter after cleaning. I purchased a K&N cleaning kit. It contained a cleaner and a compressed can of oil. The instructions in the box only pertained to the oil in a bottle with a nozzle (maybe they were generic instructions). The instructions on the can of compressed oil said to hold the can 3" from the filter and spray each pleat.
I tried the spray on a newspaper, hell if I sprayed according to directions on the can the filter would be soaked! Knowing that a filter with too much oil can effect other things I thought I should ask for some help.
Has anybody re-oiled their filter with the compressed can of oil? How did you do it? Did I purchase the wrong recharger kit?
