Does anyone here have any expierince with these two products? Im thinking about getting them to go with my magnaflow magnapacks cat back but i havent heard much about the mac headers and prochamber.... Could you guys give me your opinions on these two products....
thanks :SNSign:

Yes I have the Mac long tubes, prochamber and magnaflow catback. My car sounds bad ass. I'm told you can here me coming from a mile away. Might be the cams or vortech? anyhow, get them cuz' you'll love em!

I dunno about the longtubes, but I love my prochamber, its a great mix of the sounds of an x and a h pipe. Ive heard its a little quieter than the two, but deeper. I had a buddy drive my car while I drove his car side by side the other night and OMG :D I think you'll be happy with the prochamber.

love my magnaflow/prochmaber combo. the prochamber fomr what i have read/heard makes more and flatter power than the H and X's.

IIRC mac LT's allow the trans to be removed as well?

yea some turn and twist move.. making that statement a fact might be the deciding factor of which l/t to get for me. The ceramic mac's look pretty darn nice, and i LOVE my prochamber :D

i've dropped my 3650 with MAC LT's in place. The only thing that you have to do is take out the O2's & then rotate it to the passenger side then drop it out.

btw here's a clip of my exhaust. mac lt's, prochamber, & weld in flowpaths

I have had both but not at the same time.

First I had a pro chamber and the mac catback. Then I bought some used mac lt's and new mac h pipe. The first set up was a little quieter at wot but wasn't as raspy. The Lt's and hpipe are louder at wot especially in the mid range rpm's but quieter at cruising and part throttle. I didn't install the longtubes until I was well over 400hp and I noticed a nice difference in power. Good thing because they are a Pia to install.

Ceramic Mac LT's, Prochamber and FLowpaths. I love the sound. Never heard anyone complain about the Mac sound. The complaint comes with the LT's. I have to tighten the passenger side header thats farthest forward about 2-3 times in the 2 years I've had them. Not bad for cheap stuff. Good hp gains with teh LT's on NA car.

Well im not rich, quite the opposite, so all i have is a 2.5" o/r prochamber and dynomax super turbo's welded in with a 2.5" pipe from the midpipe and then 2.5" out to the tips, instead of getting bigger tips i just got the guy to move them out 1" each so they stick out.

Personally i love the sound, although inside the car it does sound a little tinny, so roll down your windows :p.

I've always thought it was extremely quiet but apparently not.

i hadn't got too many genuine opinions from other people until this summer in a parkade, my rich a-hole friend who has a corvette was riding with me, he asked me to rev it. He literally jumped about 4 inches and said quote "Holy ****ing **** that sounds like a ****ing race car! Thats insane man!"

And possibly my greatest compliment to date... My cousin has a cammed LT1 95 T/A thats had about 8 different exhaust set-ups on it now. He absolutely loves the way my car sounds and has gotten me to rev it at his exhaust shop of choice and told the guy he wanted that sound replicated, only louder. (he likes being heard 3 miles away)

Another experiance i had just recently, i took the car out after the first snowfall melted (they dont salt until the big snowfall so no worries) and my girlfriend told me to 'do that thing that makes her stop breathing'. (drive it in first gear to about 15mph and then mash the gas pedal). Well there was this mid 30 year old walking with his wife about 2 blocks away, i did this to the top of first and then let the revs drop in first gear (possibly my favorite sound btw. very loud), anywho, this guys wife was half a block ahead of him and he was standing there in shock, when i went by he gave me two thumbs up and then turned around and watched me drive away for the next block and a half until i went around the curve and i couldn't see him anymore... i wish i could have gotten a video of it. Best and funniest sight ever.

Prochamber is also extremely easy to install but is a pita to get to seal up and you'll often get exhaust leaks, i have a minor one i think, although last time i had it running i couldn't find it or hear it so perhaps it fixed itself or i was just on crack before, i only thought it had a leak because of the sound inside of the car and the smell of the exhaust inside the car.... but i later found out those are both just side affects of an o/r pipe/the prochamber.

stangless and 03fla.. u got some more input in response to my post? im really looking into the mac lt's but i gotta know more..

Yeah just get locking header bolts. There are pretty expensive for bolts. I had a buddy put the car up on a ramp and tighten the front bolt. Isn't too hard if you can get under your car. Mac Ceramic LT's are pretty good for the price, ceramic coating is good, but I live in florida with no salt on the roads. I had some problems with exhaust leaks but it always seemed to be the leading flange on the passenger side. You might never have that problem. If your worried about it you can buy stage 8 locking header bolts for about $40 or get under your car when you change the oil and check the bolts but only needed if you hear a leak. Personally I would be more pissed if I paid $7-800 for SLP's or something and had to tighten a header bolt. Any time you put a aftermarket part, or Ford part for that matter, on your car you run the risk of something going wrong. It's part of modding. You know, fix it till it's broke. Slap em on and enjoy your higher torque curve. I don't know what else to say, but if you have any specific questions let me know.

happen to be on now too. but thanks for the input.. i think im going to go with the mac's. i dont drive the stang when theres even a hint of salt on the roads.. so ill be good there. I wasnt aware that we could even get to the bolts without takin stuff off.. shows how much attention i pay to the manifolds. Yes ill be forkin out the 40 to get the locking header bolts, and the 20 somethin for bassanni gaskets. done hopefully, for once, get it done right the first time. I didnt see how a ceramic coating could be "crap".. i mean, ceramic is ceramic.. not much to it. anyways, if theres anything else you feel important about sharing on mac lt's before i buy and install them, lemme know. :nice:

I have no personal experience with Mac headers, but I have read quite a few stories on SN, and seen a fair share of pictures of the coating just flaking off, with rust inhabiting the flanges. I searched but the pictures are gone. It seems like a hit or miss with the coating.

As for the header bolts, stage 8s are great. If you don't want to spend the extra cash, reuse the stock studs and nuts, and after you bolted the headers on, let it warm up. After your ears stop bleeding, re-tighten the nuts.
