Mac vs. Flowmaster

Ok guys, What do you think is:
1. The loudest
2. The best sounding (In your opinion)
3. Best flowing
I've decided to go to a chambered muffler because I like the throaty tone. I really like the Borla stingers, but they dont make a cat-back for my '98.
If someone knows where to buy the actual Stinger mufflers, piecing together a catback would still be an option..Sound clips would be great too.

Thanks-
Kyle

Both are loud

Depends on midpipe... with an X pipe id say Mac, with a Prochamber id say Mac, but with an H pipe it probaly goes to Flows... just personal preference.

Mac's flow better, theres a article floating around somewhere where they tested alot of mufflers for the best HP and flow results. Flowmaster was near the bottom, Mac's were in the middle and flow'd very nice for a chambered muffler.

Im pretty set on a Mac catback even though I have an X pipe.

1. Dunno
2. Flows, but i have Macs with stock 6 cat hpipe. Theres noway to tell its true sound with 6 damn cats. Once i get the o/r h or catted h/x than i will know this answer AND ITLL CHANGE TO MAC MOST LIKLY
3.Flowmaster suck @ flowing lol. MACS win this!

Macs have the throaty sound. Heres a clip of macs on a 96-98 GT NONPI with o/r h. Sounds like flows but more meanier. Flows sound good, but it doesnt have the mean throat sound like the macs. Both have pros and cons with the sound. I picked macs b/c i wanted something similar to flows, but not exactly like. If you can get a good midpipe itll sound good if not better than flows.

MACS SOUND ***ING SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THROATY AS HECK.. DO U AGREE?

I had this same dilemma, and from what research i've found, if you want stingers...accept no substitute, plus, after I heard borlas with a prochamber, I was hooked and instantly knew that was my future set up. You can buy the mufflers from the borla website, get some tips, and have a shop fab up a catback. :nice:

I cant find where exactly to find the stingers on their site, also, if there is a dealer that sells them, that would be great.

Yeah, it's your young ears. I liked my Mac system on my old 5.0L for a little while too, until I got tired of not being able to hear my radio, or what my passenger was saying when sitting right next to me, it gets annoying in a hurry.

I'll take the quiet (yet still muscular) sound of a nice strait through muffler like my Magnaflow's anyday. :nice:
