Seems awesome, I might do cams down the road. I'm interested to see what other aftermarket companies have in store for the future.

Hwy Marty. Any idea of what a similar setup from SHM could net us two valve guys?

WOW...good gains. I asked about cams when I first got my car and I was told that the cams in there were the best.....guess they were wrong!!! Add another mod to the "to do" list.....

Damn, if only I had $2000 sitting around...

I assume that quite a bit of low end torque was lost though, I've always heard that LT's and Xpipes both lose torque down low. (High Flow cats probably hurt low-end torque also)

I still bet with a set of 4.10/4.30's it would be tons of fun to drive around!

Cool! But what I wanted to know was what kind of hp/tq gains could we expect from SHM stage 1 or Stage 2 cams with coplete exaust?

To anyone that has the answer:
1) Do you have to change your valve springs? If I get the stage 1 somewhere in the future, can the stock 2v springs take the stress?

2) How much low-end torque is lost after the stage 1 cam installation?

3) Do I NEED a new tune?

Thanks,

Looks like Stage II is the best for Low end and mid power on a GT 99+, no need to change springs with the SHM Cams if you don't want to get over 7000RPM

Here's some specs. :

Cam Part No. Type Lift Intake Exhaust Duration @ .050 Characteristics
2V GT Intake Exhaust

2730 Stage 1 0.500 0.500 230 230 Good for 3.27-3.73 gears, 1500-6000 rpm, 96-98 GT

2750 Stage 2 0.550 0.550 218 218 Good low end, improved mid range, stock ECU, PI head

2760 Hot Street
Strip N/A 0.550 0.550 242 232 3.73-4.10 gears, 2000+ stall converter, rough idle, needs exh, int, PI head

2770 Hot Street
Strip S/C 0.550 0.550 232 242 3.73-4.10 gears, 2000+ stall converter, rough idle, needs exh, PI head

2780 Race 0.550 0.550 242 242 Race camshaft 2500 - 7000 rpm

In my case I want to try the 2750 on a 99+ and right now I have 245 SAE RWHP and 286 FT-Lbs Torque so I'll let you know what will be my gain .

Clic on signature if you want to see my mods.

My question would be could part#2750 pass an im240 type emissions test? I would possibly think so, since it can use the the stock ecu.

That Mach 1 is sick, there's my new dream car. Just stroke it and add some spray...

How does SHM get away with charging that much for head porting? Their heads flow about the same as Fox Lake, VT, etc...but are about 1,500 more than everybody else??? They must think very highly of their porting skills.

Uhg mpcv2000, Nice Numbers!

I have been kicking around the idea of putting SHM 2730's in my modular, now after hearing your results, I think my next paycheck is going to SHM and AFM for there camshaft quick change tool (no need to take front cover off).

Why did your have to post that? I was supposed to buy the wife a new set of tires for her car. Now I have to listen to her complain as I spend a day 2 weeks from now putting my new cam's in.
