Thanks for the complements guys. I once I get settled into my new house, I'll start tearing the car down for body work. May wait till the end of summer though, would like to get a 10 sec slip out of it before I tear it all down for paint.

For the front Im putting 96 GT brakes on it, I picked up the spindles, calipers, rotors, lines with new pads for $150. I would of rather had 94/95 stuff but I got the 96 stuff dirt cheap. Right now the wheels have 245/45/17s on them, They seem to tall for the front since I have it really low on coil overs. I want to put 245/40/17s on the front then 275/40/17s on that back.

Unless you are planning on using an Aftermarket K Member I would avoid using the 96 Spindles as they will cause Bumpsteer Issues! I would also look at using some 99-04 Front Calipers as they are Dual Piston and Aluminum instead of Steel and Single Piston. 245/45/17s and 275/40/17s have the same diameter so they will height match front and back.

I think Mach wheels are badass on Foxes. I've got some 17x8s and 17x9s that will be going on my car with Cobra brakes as soon as I have some free time and talk myself into dropping the couple grand its going to be to finish the project...

Yea that car was HIGHLY mistreated after Bill (quick91LX) owned it. There were some good things and some bad things done to that car after bill but the bads out did the goods. APC Racing seats - bad, He thought he was putting in a lightweight flywheel in it when he put in a 28oz flywheel. Weeellll lets just say the engine had a pretty bad engine vibration. It does have a centerforce clutch, and a 3550. The idiot like knawed a hole in the rear body panel for the battery cut off switch.

That car is now back to the guy who owned it before Bill. (Made that car look the way it did when bill had it.) Its got a new motor with Patriot 185's and all that fun stuff. I'm going to help him with painting it black again and were gonna convert the interior to all black and he want's to eventually get black FR500's for it.

I have looked into putting PBR calipers on it, probly something Ill do down the road. I have a Hook'en Chassis Tube K member and A-arms for the car. Also have a Flaming river rack with a UPR bump steer kit that I hope to solve the bumper street issues with. Might be picking up a set of MT ET street radials, for the rear from a buddy that is about to sell his car.

I used to not like the Mach 1 wheels on fox bodies at all. But....now I like them on GT's. Still don't care for them on LX's.

Pretty old post, I was still living at my apartment then.. my car still looks the same, its had 99 cobras, 04 bullits, 18" chrome bullitts and pro-stars on it since then, but has Mach 1 wheels back on it now. Couple newer pictures (about 6 months ago)

I have droped the rear about 1.5" and raise the front alittle since the pictures...

I'm not sure there's any way to say this without sounding like an *******, but why haven't you put the money you spent on four different sets of wheels and tires into some paint and bodywork? Your car is nice and could be much nicer with some finishing touches. Not being a dick, just saying...

Anytown, USA Cool pic, and a damn fine looking GT. Are the wheels machined? Polished? Very nice. They look like 35th Anniversary's without the dark inserts.

No offense taken. Plain and simple, its easyier to swap wheels then paint a daily driven Mustang. My plan was to start body work on it over this winter but the plant I'm working at is closing down (Folgers) so not going to jump into a big project. I bought the pro-stars since I run alot at the track and got a great deal on them (450 for full set with tires) I ended up selling them to another local guy, and he gave me the 18" bullitts that where on his car for making the prostars fit (pulled quads, adjust tail pipes, etc) I didnt like the looks of the 18s so I trade them for some 04 Bullitts, they looked good had good tires but had another freind that wanted them for his V6 so sold them, and now I'm back to Mach 1 wheels.. Sorry for the long story about the differnt wheels ive had.. lol

I do have a oem front bumper, 93 gt front fenders, 93 cobra front fender extensions, and a new hatch for it. Need to get a drivers door and some 1/4 patch panels.. kinda at the point where I might buy a roller and swap my stuff over..

I did use the 96 spindles, car has a D&D k-member with hooken chassis control arms. I have a UPR bump steer kit on it, flaming river manual rack. It has alittle bump steer when hitting big bumps but nothing to bad.

thanks for the info. reason i asked is i have a full 03 GT 5 lug/disc brake setup including the spindles which i believe are the same. everything i've read says they'll cause severe bumpsteer issues, but anytime i read about someone actually using them, they report no issues. i'm trying to decide if i want to use the spindles i have, or sell them and get 94/95 spindles.

MM would advise the later.

"Doing so will significantly increase bumpsteer because...

* The steering arm on the 1996-04 spindle is about 1.02" (26mm) lower (relative to the rest of the spindle) than the steering arm of any 1979-95 spindle.
* The lower steering arm forces the outer tie-rod end to a lower position.
* That new position is far too low for the steering rack location of any 1979-95 Mustang, and radically changes the steering geometry.
* It is impossible to correct the geometry with a bumpsteer kit because the outer tie-rod end needs to be raised so much that it would have to occupy the same physical space as the steering arm."
