I will have a 4.2L that will need rebuilding, let me know who you have used or recommend. I've seached through a few old threads, just want to get suggestions from people. Thanks!

Rodeo Joe, I can only recommend my brother's place of employment. It's "Mid-Cape Machine Shop" and it's located in Hyannis, Mass. His boss is named Dave and has owned and operated this business for close to 25 years. My brother has been there for 19 years (since high school) and it's just the two of them. The quality of their work is excellent and you won't get the runaround. Because it's just the two of them, mistakes are minimized and they can concentrate on doing the job right the first time. There's no turnover of employees to worry about, which is most of the battle to keep quality high. Their phone number is (508)771-1988.

On a side note, isn't a 4.2L a 255? If so, you may want to consider building up a standard 5.0. That 255 wasn't produced to make power and the heads will kill you in your quest to make power. Of course, this is all mute if you're restoring something like an '80 Cobra that was equipped with that engine.

Good luck in your quest!

This 4.2L is the V6 variety!

Thanks for the info. Is a V6 Ford a problem with your brother's shop?

Ahhhh. Nope. A V-6 shouldn't be a problem at all for them. They rebuild everything from 2.3 liter Fords to stroker engines. As stated before, I can only recommend them because they're the only ones that I've dealt with.

I'm know that there's other good machine shops around Massachusetts too and I'm sure you'll hear about them in this thread.

You've done the right thing by asking!
