i guess i could make a ram-air battery cooler out of the other one..heh

i cut out the plastic in front of the headlight section with a hot knife and cleaned it up with a minimite dremel.

on the inside there, the shown knobs are the adjustable screws on the back of the headlight. there is a curved adjustable plate attatched to them, i punched that out with a screwdriver and pliars..

and thats basically it. the sidemarker is painted with VHT niteshades and the rest is plain flat black paint.

heres some mid-work pics.. if i were to do it again i wouldnt go out as far with the hot knife, its time consuming to sand away.

What did you do to your car? That looks aweful! I know the reason why you did that, but it totally makes your front end look like $hit with that big gaping hole in the headlight. I would make it look like it did before if I were you. But that's just my honest opinion. You could do whatever you want with it.

In his post, he said he bought the crappy light for $15 so he could put it on WHEN HE WAS RACING, not driving with it all the time.

hahaha, no, but they make some headlights like that for some cars, looks just like normal cept for the hole cut in it, but you keep the bulb its just moved into the other corner and the hole is covered with wire mesh

ive had an old headlight sitting here for over a year that im working to turn into a scoop. i drilled a hole in the lens and thats as far as i got. lol, seeing this thread makes me want to start working on it again...

when mine is done its going to have funneled opening with a straight piece of PVC going right to the MAF w/o a filter. it should work out nicely.

Sounds like a good idea.

But I think both you guys should try and add some type of screen to the end of the headlight ... this way large objects such as flies, and seagulls don't get sucked into your intake.

seagulls...

honestly, i dont see a problem with debris. i had a similar set-up on my LX and it was never an issue. then when i switched to a carb i had a sealed airpan with an open foward facing hood scoop and ran with no filter, no issues there either.
