i'm thinking about getting a new maf and would like to get a 24# calibrated one. Thing is I don't want to upgrade my injectors quite yet. So if i get a c&l 76mm maf, can i use my stock maf tube inside the c&l?

Buy the 76mm MAF with a calibration tube for your current setup (19's)...
and buy a calibration tube for the 24's for later...
You will run the stock sensor in both setups.
There are better aftermarket meters available like ProM and PMAS, and now ABACO
OR
you can buy a stock Ford 70mm MAF for your current setup with 19's.
Use the sensor from the 70mm housing (part number F2VF-****)
You should be able to find them for $25 or so...
My local parts yard gets about $15 for MAF meters.
why not go carb, i did a few times now since my 89, been hella more responsive and easier to work on , saves more money that buying **** to make **** work imo. but thats just me tho

I have the C&L 76mm MAF. It came on my car when I bought it.
I think it works pretty well. When I went from 19# injectors, to 24# injectors, I just ordered up a sample tube for 24's from them. $39.00.
Just make sure you run your stock air box with the C&L. That's what it is designed to be used with.
Anderson Ford motorsports had a self programable MAF sensor which looks pretty cool. I don't know how good they are, but it will save you some money in the long run everytime you change your set-up.
If you plan on running a power adder in the future or making some n/a horsepower, I'd go with a Pro-M or an Anderson Ford MAF set-up with the Anderson Power Pipe
The C&L should be fine otherwise.
You will need to get a sample tube for your 19# injectors
Why do you want to upgrade your MAF without changing injectors? What is your current setup? Yes the stock 55mm MAF is quite small compared to the SN95's 70mm MAF and all the aftermarket MAFs out there. Have you made any engine modifications that require more air? The benefit of "up-sizing" MAF's without other complimentary modifications will be minimal. And if you have made engine modifications that require the extra air, why aren't you upgrading injectors as well? Just my $.02
