Hey guys ive searched around but could find a straight forward answer on my question. So here it goes, I have daone a Mass air conversion on my 88' and runs great. I have tore the engine down for a refresher rebuild and will be puting 24# injectors in with a cobra MAF will the Cobra MAF work with the A9L?

If its not usable what year and make of year vehicles MAF would work?

The Cobra MAF is calibrated via the computer for the 24's. So no. As far as I know all factory MAF's are calibrated via the computer. Your stuck with aftermarkets.

Unless you have high flow heads, intake manifold and cam, 19 lb injectors are fine. There is no advantage to using 24 lb injectors on a stock or near stock engine.

The folowing 70 MM Ford MAF's will work with 19lb injectors and an A9L or A9P computer.

94-95 Mustang GT MAF - $40-$100. It is 70 MM instead of the stock 55 MM on regular stangs built prior to 94. It uses a slip on duct on the side that goes to the throttle body and a 4 bolt flange on the other. You need a flange adapter to fit the stock slip on air ducting that goes to the air box. Wiring plugs right in with no changes. *1 *2
*1.) Metal flange adapter Kurtz Kustomz Motorsports, Inc. KKM Buy the TR70 for $44.95. Or spend some time on eBay looking for one that may fit.
Try AutoZone and ask for 81413 - Spectre / 3 in. Aluminum Intake Mass Air Flow Sensor Adapter at $12.00. You may have to order it online.

*2.) MAF & sensor interchange
The 94-95 Mustang 5.0 MAF & sensor is also found on:
1995-94 Mustang 3.8L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
1994-92 Crown Victoria 4.6L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
1995-94 Mustang, Mustang Cobra 5.0L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
1994-92 Town Car 4.6L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
1994-92 Grand Marquis 4.6L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
Evidently the –A1A, -A2A, AA, etc. on the end of the part number is a minor variant that did not change the operating specs. You should be able to ignore it and have everything work good.

You can run any aftermarket MAF calibrated for 24 lb injectors.

OEM Ford MAFs are calibrated to the computer. The computer's internal programming matches the injector size to the engine.

OEM Ford MAF sensors are designed to work with a specific housing or group of housings. Swap a X sensor onto a Z housing and the resulting mismatch will give unpredictable results and often sub par performance.

Another way of saying what has already been said...

Your options are...
1. Run the A9L, 24's, and an aftermarket MAF calibrated for your ecu & Injector.
2. Run an X3Z, 24's, and the 93 Cobra MAF.

The parts in option 2 are direct replacements for the stock parts, but all 3 parts must be used together...

A third option is the use of an aftermarket tuner, such as tweecer or moates, but that is likely overkill based on what current mods.... If future plans are more aggressive though, it may be a more serious option to look at.
A tuner would allow the mixing and matching of almost any parts you can find...
