Hey guys,

I used to have an 05 GT and on it I had a magnaflow X pipe and catback. Overall I was pleased with the setup, minus the fact that the magnaflows were very quiet. The system gained me good power and didn't need a tune.

Well, on my 08 all I have so far is the Bassani SS axle back. I'm looking to get another X pipe to make the car a bit louder and pick up a little tiny bit of fuel efficiency and power.

My question is, how does the Bassani fare compared to the magnaflow in terms of sound and power. I liked the sound of the Magnaflow X and it is cheaper, but overall the Bassani seems like a better system.. Is there any difference in pitch and volume between the two?

Will I need a tune with the Bassani X? I only have 900 miles and would like to wait till 5000 or so before tuning just in case my car has any inherent flaws I am not aware of. Don't want any warranty trouble.

What do you guys think?

The bassani catted x that come with race pipes.... If thats the one your talking about Dallas mustang has them for 398.. and change, REALLY CHEAP, and they sound great. the only time youll to tune is when you switch over to race pipe aka O/R X system ! Other than that , even with there high flow race cats it will sound amazing ! Good luck with what ever you choose check out the link we have in the TECH STICKY for the sounds of the pipes !

I've heard that there's a slight difference in sound, but never heard bassani in person. I LOVE my magnaflow catted x with my steeda axle back, and I've always had good luck with magnaflows fit and finish.

Yeah man, Magnaflow rocks, every other car I have had used magnaflow products (02 GT, 03 Cobra, 05 GT), this is the first car where I have a non magnaflow exhaust part, and that's just because the magnaflow catback was too quiet, and magpapacks too loud :)

Hmm, decisions decisions!

I bought a catted Tru-X by Magnaflow and I couldn't get the damn thing to stop leaking at the driver side header connect. (stock headers)

I'm not impressed with the fit and finish. The best thing about it is that it's very light.
