I encourage all of you to do it, lol. I took my son to work today(its also my b-day). To help me fix and install parts on some machines. Of course I'm right here supervising. But for the most part he is doing it himself. And doing a damn good job. Today's electronics are so easy to repair a child can do it, literally. I told him I'd pay him $30 for the day. He jumped at the chance to do it. He really helping me out. Because I can sit here and surf forums. And make $25/hour. Once he gets done installing the parts. I'll double check his work. And then we will recalibrate the machine together. And call it a day.

The only problem with your plan is that your customers will expect this elevated level of work quality over your norm whenever they return. You're going to have to hire him full time in order to keep up the pace.
