well i got a new carbon fiber hood here are some pics, do u guys think i should paint it or leave it as is a la ricer boy I was going to paint it right away but seeing the beautiful carbon fiber made me think twice:

so paint it or not??
no shaker for me, i have different plans for this one mwa ha ha

leave it for a while, if you have the cash to paint it whats the rush. try it and if you hate it paint it, if you like it you have some extra cash..

I'd leave it how it is for a while, maybe you'll end up really liking it. I know if I were to pay the $$ for carbon fiber (instead of fiberglass), then i'd at least want to try it for a while unpainted

a funny quote from a ricer in my area. "You can't paint carbon fiber yo. If you try to paint it, da chemicals n' **** from da paint will make dat carbon evaporate.. so everywhere you paint it, it'll just disintegrate"

Your car is black, right? You need to paint the hood to match. I think it would look stupid with a dark gray hood.

If you choose not to paint it... go have a clear coat put on!

If you dont... the sun will make it crack and make it change color and fog up.. trust me mine did that

We've got a Saleen S7 and a Carrera GT on our showroom as well as a Ferrari F40 in our service drive right now that are painted and haven't melted yet

I agree...if nothing else put it on your car and see how you like it. Take a couple good pics and photo-chop some black on the sides to give you an idea of the black with CF around the shaker. Either way it still looks sweet

I like the cf look, I say keep it. But make sure you have the power to back up the looks.

I got the same hood Put it on, see if you like it, if not then paint it. I dunno how it looks with a black car, but I've seen a CF hood on a MG car and it looked Titts! Should look even closer on DSG, but I have to wait another month to find out.

*EDIT* No shaker huh? Going with a through hood Carb? Spill the beans dude, I'm curious as hell.
