Mass Air Flow Sensor

Can someone explain the value of changing out the MAF Sensor? What is the stock MAF mm for a '98 Cobra? I see adds for C & L Performance and the various sizes MAF's, but don't know much about it.

I already have a K & N Filtercharger to replace the stock filter unit--what kind of HP gains could I expect from that plus changing the MAF to a different size (recommendations and why, please) as well as a C & L True Flow inlet pipe. Is this worth doing?

Thanks!:flag:

The MAF reads how much air is going into the engine. It outputs a higher voltage as the airflow increases. The computer uses the information from the MAF to adjust how much fuel it should give the engine. Unless you have made a lot of changes and gone way up in HP you won't gain anything by changing the MAF. I dont know what the limit on the NA cobras is but the 03/04 can go to 450/500 RWHP before a new MAF or extender is needed. A extender is a add on for the stock MAF that allows you to adjust the point when the MAF outputs 5 volts. They can take the same MAF to 800 HP
