May have found a GT350

I am so excited. I just had to tell you guys. I MAY have found a Shelby GT350 rotting away in the weeds. I just happened to be driving around the back of this car dealer and there it sits way back in the brush. From what I could see from a little distance- it has the apparent makings of a Shelby. I am going to day to check it out more... gonna try and get it for a $1000. Let you guys know what comes of it

Dude, thatd be the find of the century. Theres some guy on ebay selling the burnt out remains of the original drivetrain of one, and the Shelby plates to re-body the car for a rediculous amount. Good luck and keep us advised of your progress!

get the vin # and check it through saac to make sure it is a real shelby.

Its not for sale. it is literally sitting in the brush behind a small private car dealer. I went there today but he was closed. I could only peek through the fence at the car. From what I can see- it has all the body cladding of a GT-- even the correct wheels. It has been sitting for quite some time- I think there is even a small tree inside of it. I will be back tomorrow... then I can confirm or deny via the vin#. I have a good feeling about this!!

It is a Shelby. A verified 66 GT 350 - white with blue stripes. Sitting behind a small dumpy car dealer in between some other wrecks. I checked the car out- the front fenders are missing- inside is destroyed ( a cat was in there when I looked ). It had the shelby ID plate inside the engine comp. The car is an absolute disgrace. But at the same time- the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I could only look at it for a minute- then the dealer came out. He would not sell it to me- for any price. I guess it has some sentimental value to him. I got into a small argument with him how I would bring it back to life and he was just letting it rot away. To make a long story short- he is a retard. But I am not giving up. Its nothing that a tow truck at 3 o'clock in the morning can't fix........ just kidding. But I am gonna keep trying.

Shelby VIN

Buckshot,

PM me the VIN so it can be sent to SAAC. They track all VIN's, so the missing cars can be found. As a SAAC rep, I am always asked about VIN's as those not as honorable as us will create fake Shelby's with the missing VIN's. By giving SAAC this #, you may be saving some unfortunate soul $$$$$, and it's always good to find the where-abouts of lost cars, even if they are lost causes.

thats a crazy find. I thought forsure i found one onetime, but it ended up being a normal replica. It had the 9" no rear seat, 4 speed, and even the stripes, but it wasnt.

Well, you already got your answer. Oh well, I was about to say don't get your hopes up. Cars like these have rarely escaped everyones attention up until now these days. The reason for it being there is likely one of 3 scenarios or a combination of, like 1) Plans to restore the car some/one day (yeah right) 2) sentimental, like a dearly departed husband or MIA son from the war or 3) the dreaded I think it is worth the same as a totally restored car and wont sell for a dime less than the top dollar value. Either way, it is usually hopless unless you can find out the real reason for the hold up, and slowly but surely become friends and build truxt with the preson over many years with no harrasment about the car and fill what ever need is missing in their life until they finally cave. Obviously a long and patient process that comes with baggage even after you own it unless you are cold and heartless and can suddenly cut the person out of your life once it's finally yours.
