Maybe gettin a 98 Cobra got some ???'s

Whats up guys, I maybe be gettin a 98 Cobra with 102,000 miles on her, the car has Ford Racing lowering springs, 17x8 Cobra R's up front and 17x10.5's in the rear, I have a 96 GT right now thats been a great car, never had any problems out of it, thats why I wanna go with another Stang instead of an F-Body car like my friends were tellin me... anyway the car has had alittle Nitrous sprayed though it and I was wondering if thats a real bad thing the DOHC 4.6? the biggest shot was a 125 shot...

Thanks,
Jake

Is it a real bad thing? Maybe. Maybe not. You never know if the engine has taken a beating until you inspect it. Was it sprayed often? Was it tuned (running lean, detonation, etc)? Did the previous owner race it often? Is it burning oil or coolant?

It wouldn't be a bad idea to do a compression and/or leakdown test on the engine, just in case, if you suspect that something is wrong.

Well I havn't driven or put the car on a lift yet but the previous owner knows what he's doeing with Nitrous, it was a wet kit and yea it was tuned... but as far as I know it doesn't have any leaks or burn any oil.

Think Im gonna test drive it soon as I sell my dirtbike cause I need that money to buy the car, already got a buyer for my 96 GT so if I can sell my bike Im set...

I loved my 98 cobra to death. If you can swing it, hold out for a stock one. They are out there.. just got to be patient. I know you might be tired of the old GT and want a change.. just make sure that change is a positive one.

I would not buy a car on juice.. but that is me.

Yea thats what Im worried about... but I know the guy that owns this car and he had it tuned for Nitrous, so it was never run lean, and other than running lean Nitrous doesn't really have any Ill effects unless you dont know what your doing...

Im still gonna look at it but I need to sell my Dirtbike QUICK if Im gonna get this one...

Later,
Jake
