Well I have some valve train questions....
I need to know how to correctly measure the length of the push rod needed for my new motor. What is the right way todo so.

Also I am un sure how to correctly set my stud mount roller rockers. I do not want them to be too loose or tight.

Thanks in advance

There are several methods to measuring pushrod length. I subscribe to the "mid-lift" method...a little Googling should put you in the right direction.

Clearly you'll need a pushrod length checking tool regardless of the method you use...summit and others sell them.

Next google "how to adjust roller rockers" and enjoy...

Good luck...

you will need a solid lifter to do so. if you are still running the hydro rollers, take an old one and you can either tack weld it so the lifter doesn't plunge, or get a solid one of the same dimensions. take a sharpie and smear the tip of said valve to cover it in its ink, then take your adj push rod you have(you do have and adj style pushrod right?) and adjust to somewhat close to making it fit right. decide how much preload you are going to run.( think i am running 3/4 turn preload on mine, i forget)then put rocker on stud on tighten as if it was actually to be running. turn engine over about one revolution. tear apart rocker setup. look at valve stem to see the "wear" on it. on exhaust side shorten pushrod. intake side lengthen pushrod. you will want it close to center as possible with a small 'wear" path on it.

disclaimer: i am intoxicated right now so do more reading on it so you know for sure.
