Well, my car is at the shop and they are trying to figure out why it is bucking. The guy that had the car b4 me had a radio shack piece of crap alarm and some stupid sound system wiring setup in the car. Since I have had the car, the wiring underneath always looked like a rats nest even though the car ran fine.

So anyway, I hope this doesn't get too complicated. Anybody know anything about that "port" on the driver's side of the console inside the car? The mechanic says he needs that port to read codes and stuff. I thuoght all he needed was the port on the computer..I need a prozac...:barf:

yep in the engine compartment, As for that plug, is there alarm stuff spliced into it?? causing a problem?? Its pretty straight forward, rip the security crap out wire it back to factory, get a manual, Haynes or some sort and follow the wiring diagram in the back... Or have your mechanic follow it.

if your mechanic doesn't know where the diag port is, get your car outta there.

Thanks for the responses. Yep. I mentioned the port on the pass side. He said he didn't know what I was talking about at first. And then he said yes there is a port over there and there is a $7,000 scanner at the dealer for that. Huh??:( My mechanic did a scan on that port with a simple snap on scanner. This place I took my car has suppossedly been in business for 20 years and the guys seem pretty experienced. I think he may just be getting po'd at the butcher job the previous owner did to my car. Po's me that someone would do that. The car is a Mustang not a @#$% %$#@ tricked out honda!

Any decent garage will have ascan tool for this, I have a MAC scan tool 550 $$ reads it just fine. Sounds like he is a little out of his comfort zone with electronic stuff..

you can use a $2 test light and retrieve codes at the plugin your talking about under the hood on passenger side click on link below print this and take it to your mechanic and sell him a test light and the diagram of how to check for codes and code meanings in link for half price of factory tester $3500 lol. the panels under drivers side are universal meaning they only make one style for v8 and v6 the v6 is obd 2 and the port under drivers side is hooked up and the v8 is obd1 and the port under dash pass. side is dead cel plugin is located pass. side under hood.

Sounds like he is trying to read some kind of datalogging to me... and that is how he diagnoses it.

When he connects into that port on the drivers side he gets an error code ..check ignition/connection, check this check that it says...but it won't let him read anything..

The problem with the car is that it bucks like hell when trying to hold one speed. Accelerating is fine and WOT is fine. Any ideas? Help!

So far:
New injectors, distributor, coil, 02 sensors, no cats, new fuel pump, plug wires are fairly new, plugs are new, ....

Ack..Ok so the port under the drivers side dash doesn't read. Why didn't they know that?

All these guys do are mustangs for 20 years..maybe they are not that good with 94-95's. Sheesh. And I towed that car 58 miles just because I thought this place was more experienced. The vote is still out...

I think it could be the alternator personally.

Oh, yes the normal bucking below 2000RPM I am ok with. This is at any speed if I am running a constant speed. Know what I mean? Even if I an doing like.. 50mph in 3rd gear, I have to decelerate or accelerate or bucky buck bucko-ramma...

i see. i was under the impression the tune will cure the low rpm bucking. so yours still does the low rpm bucking with a tune. that sucks. that is the only reason i was going to get a tune but if it wont cure it what will?

In reference to bad wiring. Some of the worst wiring I have ever seen has been on mustangs. Stereo speakers were all wired with their negatives together (its a ground right?? hahaha), the power was connected to the dimmer (so when you turn the headlights on the stereo goes off, and when you change the dash brightness it gets louder/softer). and a whole lot worse.
The worse was a ground wire for an amp DUCT TAPED to the trunk well.
