WOW

This stuff works. My 94 GT had badly oxidized tail lights. I was even considering some 96-98 replacments, I've tried Turtle wax rubbing compound and other plastic cleaner / wax products, but the Meguiars really works great !! Just a little elbow grease, and bam it's clean.

I found it at Discount Auto here in Fla @ $5.62 for a 10 oz bottle, but Mequiars is carried everywhere. You wont be disappointed.

Now, I just need to repaint the bezels with some black Krylon Fusion paint and I'll have some great looking tail lights.

I'll see if I can get some pics posted. Thanks Dewman.

I found one of the left side (3A) when I had first painted the bezel black. It's not a close up, but you might be able to see how cloudy the lens was. This was like 2 years ago, and it had gotten much worse since then.

Give it a couple weeks, the white will come back. The only good way to fix it is to sand to as fine as you can FIRST, then PlastX like crazy like 3 times to actually fix it. You will still have to hit it every month or so to keep up with it. BUT the only way to truely fix it is to re-paint. I doubt the body shop would charge too much for just some tailights Hell, you could do all the prep-work for them to save some money. All they would have to do it shoot it. I'm going to look into re-painting before summer rolls around since I need to paint my rocker panels anyway.

I'm getting nervous about the fact that our tailights are impossible to find now, so new ones every few years won't be possible.

94GTLaserRC - I found an old pic of the LH side tail, and you can see some of the oxidation. That shot was like 2 years ago, and they had gotten a lot worse since that photo was take.

later, Dewman

Is that a "cleaner" .... or a "wax / shiner" like Armorall?

I used that stuff on my taillights a few months ago and so far so good it still hasn't turned back white yet, granted the car is only outside on the weekends but take it for what it's worth....i was happy with that stuff too.

I have that Back to Black also. It's just like Armor-All and it only looks good for a week.

Keep in mind, my car is in the southern AZ desert with no garage.

I like the stuff too, but what i never liked about it was the fact that the lasting power was so weak.
I usually had to use the stuff every time i washed my car.

If only they sold new tails again, I'm all for buying things over again for that fresh new look.

the back to black is like a kind of armor all. it last a pretty long time. My side mirrors were almost gray now they shine like new. The peak of the shine last only a week or so, but I doubt my mirrors would go back to how they were if I didnt re-apply the stuff for over a month.

If you rub in the Back to Black really hard, it lasts quite awhile....The best place on the car to use it is the black vent piece that the wiper blades are attached to.

I use it there, side mirrors, wiper arms, weatherstripping, and the black piece under the back bumper.
