This weekend its supposed to be in the 60's perfect weather for a nice cruise, lil red is going for a drive this weekend!!!!!!!! The boat however will stay put. I will say that the dining room table proved to be rather difficult, my feet kept sliding on the slippery floor, next time I will have to wear some kind of running shoe or a good hiking boot, something that can grip the carpet a little better than bear feet, while providing good support for my ankles. I will say that I have never had more fun doing laundry!

darn you andy.... We've got a high of 30 !!! wooo!! but still too much snow/salt to even THINK about getting the stang out. So, i took the sled for a ride instead

Just my $.02 - I don't know if you have shot these brass frame revolvers much or not - so that being said - I don't want to insult anyone, but........
If you are getting this revolver to shoot a lot, I would recommend getting the steel frame model (commonly referenced as the "yank" model) - as the brass frame revolvers will get "out of time" eventually. Due to the nature of the properties of brass and steel expanding and contracting at different rates, eventually the revolver will be out of time - this is worse on the .44, but will also happen on the .36 caliber after a while.
Then you have a nice wall hanger - but a PITA to shoot. I have a couple of the brass frame Confederate models, and they look fine on the wall, but if I am going out for an afternoon to shoot, I take the steel frame model, and I have had it for a while.
And - you can pick up the steel frame model from Cabelas for $199 - may not have the engraved cylinder, but a decent shooter. Dixie Gun Works has the 1851 Navy Steel Frame with a nice engraved cylinder for $200.

Yeah, the "big shooter" is planned to be the steel-framed Remington 1858 "New Army" in a steel frame (and the 1858 has a topstrap). The "brass Navy" .36 will be more for the fun of the build; may be used in re-enactments (just a cap and toilet paper-wrapped pellets) and never with much powder. I've fired brass-frame. models before; felt them tighten up after a few cylinders and seen the precision go to cr@p. If not; i would possibly have gone for the brass frame 1858 "Texas Revolver".
No... for a percussion pistol to shoot regularly with an eye towards proficiency; I'm going with a steel frame and a topstrap.
Understand that my normal ("non-CCW") carry gun is a 4" barrelled S&W 629 "Mountain Revolver" - and I have a 3/8" scar above my left eyebrow from the very first full-house 44Mag (Winchester 250gr JLSP) round I touched off, courtesy of the front sight. I really like Silvertip in .44Spl these days, for some strange reason; although what little Black Talon I've been hoarding all these years isn't all that rough on the arthritic wrist.
Now, I'm well aware that FFFg uses lower pressures -and the pressure buildup and concurrent muzzle flip comes in much more slowly; but I'm still not too keen about hot-loading (or even "moderate" charges) behind a .44 LRB in any open-top frame, regardless of metallurgy.

OK - one more, then back on topic...
I have seen more than one "chain fire" at re-enactments with those revolvers - pretty impressive - scares the crap out of the guy with the gun, and they never wrap with toilet paper again. Fortunately I have never seen anyone get injured.
The only problem with an 1858 type model with a top strap - if you use FFF powder after a lot of rounds the cylinder can foul and it is very hard to turn (revolve) - but only after a lot of rounds. But - no doubt they are much safer.
I really like the .36 caliber to shoot bettert than the .44 just seems to be a bit more accurate if you are actually putting lead down range.
So back on topic - I took my daughter to Auburn University for a visit Monday - There was a chance of showers - a girl from Texas showed up with these really big, tall obnoxious bright yellow rain boots - I think Andy needs a pair of those to wear while doing his laundry.
