I'm somewhat newer to StangNet and thank everyone in advance for any insight. I have a standard 2000 GT and had been hearing an annoying metallic rattling noise coming from my shifter whenever my RPMs would go over 2k. I removed the boot to find a metal ring (looks like a big washer of some sort) around my shifter. It just sits there and rattles from the vibration coming through the shifter. I can't seem to find where it's supposed to be secured, as it can just freely slide up and down. Any ideas on what it's purpose may be? Thanks!
