Since I am redoing my engine I've decided that I wanted to add some sort of inter/after/chemical cooler to my blower setup. I just got a pretty good deal on a Snow Performance Stage 2 Methanol Injection kit. Is anyone using one right now? How do you like it? How long will a 1 gallon tank last under normal driving conditions, i.e. not at the track making passes?

Thanks!

i can't say much to the length of time it will last, but i was reading a mustang mag about this and the snow performance just came out with a boost controller for turbos that will turn down the amount of boost when your tank is empty also one for turning down timing, i believe the initial settings allow for 4 degrees to be taken off but tinkering with it can net up to 12-14? you should take a look at that for the extra insurance.

That is a good ideas to be able to turn down the boost on a turbo application. I just don't think it would be possible to do so on a blower since it is driven from the crank speed. I suppose you could be using a BOV or something to do it with a blown application. I should look into it. I think I may have the magazine you are talking about. I can't remember which one it was so it looks like I will be going through them all in the next couple days.

Find a way to get a small air to water on it, if it were me.That being said, they work very well. People have gone 8's with them on pump gas. I don't like running out, or a pump failure mid "fun session." Obviously the more fun you have and the bigger jetting you have, the less it will last. But 2 qts might last an afternoon on joyful driving..? So twice as long for a gallon. But there is just sooo much to fail on those things they just turned me off. Air to air is reliable as they come. Even with an air to water where the pump quits, it will still work pretty well with stagnant water. But the meth, your engine also relies on the octane, so even if it quits, and your ecu pulls timing based on the IAT's raising, but you still lack octane you were tuned for, that is now missing.

they have something that will pull timing with the snow system when the tank is empty so it's detuned for the octane, that was the point of my post mostly, i just wanted to throw out the boost controlled part if you weren't thinking of keeping the blower : )

edit: the mag was mm&ff
