i do think my tuner is more comfortable with the methonol. he actually said "i dont like intercoolers, especially for you car" i assume he means because i dont drive it everyday. i dont think i like the idea of refilling the methonol all the time and i feel more comfortable with an intercooler.

what the heck do i refill a methonol kit with anyway? i know nothing about them as i never expected to be considering it.

its funny because the only car that had a blown engine at the shop was an intercooled car. however, it was the fault of the owner. he put water in there in the summer and forgot to change it once winter hit.

You can buy methanol and mix it or you can use windsheild wiper fluid.

you refill with windshield washer fluid and you fill it up like once a week...less if you don't drive much. The resevoir is under your hood and you fill it up just like you would your washer fluid.

go to the Snow website...they have a forum you could read articles and questions on.

i run a paxton IC on my T-trim.
I love it as it is always there. Nothing to fill, no more wires under the bay, less of a headache.
Just my opinion so don't bash.
An added bonus is the mean look of a huge front mount.

thanks for all the useful info guys. i have plenty of time to think about this as it is not going down right now. however, i like to know what the heck i have to buy so i know how much money i have to save.

anyway, i visited the snow website. it actually looks more appealing to me now ( of course) i guess that what websites are for. they even have the specially mix of methonol noe. and the mix is cheap. it really would save me alot of cash. i guess i could use the meth for a while and switch it to an intercooler later. i could put the extra money toward the p 51.

do you guys know if i have to do any drilling on the car to have the meth set up...i assume i do. also whick do you think would fail first. methonol or intercooler setups?

would the intercooler get cloged up or would those little tubes that the meth setup comes with get cloged or fail first? what do you think is the best long term set up?

thanks again.

or you can do what us 2.3 Turbo guys are doing, and run both a huge intercooler, and a spray... nothing keeping from just running one.

A buddy of mine had meth on his car and did an experiment. He installed an intercooler and he actually made more hp with the intercooler. He then added the meth also and it actually hurt the hp numbers. He had the p51 intake also. A dyno tune with an intercooler would be my choice for a street car.

It has to have the correct size of nozzle in order to work right and also it should spray at around 4~5psi and not before that. If you follow those rules, you should not loose but gain power from it. The air temp needs to be lowered. Either you do it with an intercooler and/or with a Methanol injection kit, but in the end you have denser air that gives you more power. Now you can add a bit of timing to give you the maximum power you can get. I agree that it is a little bit more time consuming if you have no datalogger to guide you through the process of tuning.
