i have a 91 gt with the 5 spd. i saw the thread about the roller rockers and i was thinking of putting a set of them on when i do the TB change... my question is, cause i'm not too clear on it, what does my stock motor have. is it the stud or pedistal mount rockers on it??? i want to make sure i get the right ones to put on there..... so my question is what do the stock heads run?? the stud or pedistal mount...

thanks,
sorry for the dumb question....

Here is a good article about 1.6 vs. 1.7 rockers...
http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2001/10/rockerarms/

In a nutshell you won't gain very much on a stock well-broken in 5.0...

The most recent 5.0 mag did a test on going from the stock 1.6 to 1.7's and found very little gain. In fact, I have heard that the increased stress, and eventual failure of your pushrods and other valvetrain gear is not worth the gain.
