Housings are different. If oyu put his rear on, your rear wheels will be sucked in 3/4" each side.

When he puts your rear end on, his rear wheels will push out 3/4"

The housings on the 99-04's are 1.25" wider due to the wider body.

one of my friends is going to measure a rear end from a new edge and from an aero and is gonna let me know. if it will be good then we will be swaping the whole rear end. iif it will be two short then we might probably look at the gears and see if they are ok to swap into my car. but i will hopefully start a job soon and start makin $24 an hour. $24 per hour + 50 hours a week = good checks. let the modding begin. kennebell here i come

the rear ends will fit fine, just the axles are shorter on each side in the aero's (like 5l5 mentioned) so you will end up with a narrower rear in your car, and a slightly wider rear in his. It will negatively effect handling, quite a bit, but will allow you to run a wider wheel with different offset without poking out the edge of the fenders.

Plus you get Cobra rear disk brakes.....but he will get GT rear disk...which may hurt his resale on his car
