Mildly moddified 5.0 vs. Stock 2002 GT

I went 14.1 @ 99MPH with a 2.1 60-footer in the GT.

The 5.0 has gone 13.9 @ 101 with a 2.2 60' and yes it has 3.73's.
Bone stock it went 14.7 @ 93MPH.

In all fairness i have a pretty good list of mods on the 5.0...but still stock heads, camshaft and AOD tranns. If you actually want to see the mods it has, just check out my "Garage"

I am not surprised we ran about the same in our 4.6 GT's we both run at the same track, maybe conditions were a little better when I went..

when you change to 3.73's in a 5.0 AOD it is a HUGE improvement as long as you can hook.

I actually have Kumho 712's on the 5.0 which are a terrible tire. At the track i was spinning through 1st at times trying to get it to hook.

Car is getting a 5-spd swap and a bunch of other mods. I'm gonna dig into the motor with a camshaft and some heads and really give it some HP.

Well today after work we did a couple of 2nd-3rd gear runs. We were probably rolling at about 30-35 and we stayed side by side the entire time. I think I was just starting to pull on him towards the top of 3rd gear, just barely if any tho. We are going to wait until we can get to the local track to really go at it. I think by then I might have my exhaust installed. I don't know how much if any its gonna help, but .

I had the same kumho tire on my mustang.. they suck, the best I could do 60foot wise on them was a 2.0 and that was after a ton of practice with the 3.27's with the 4.10's the traction was awfull 2.13 was my best 60 foot with them.
