Ok here's a run down of the previous few weeks. I had some extra time and energy so I swapped out the 320k mile engine for a 100k engine and a 125 shot broke the top ring on the first pass at 500 ft still went 7.31 in 1/8.
The next engine I tried making no changes to was a 93k mile engine. I made a 1/4 mile street pass. I kicked a rod at 5100rpm in 4th on the same 125 shot. When this happened it blew oil all over the car and then the entire car caught on fire. Right down to melting the paint off the rear bumper and ruining both taillights.
Naturally I went to ole' trusty 320k mile engine again and here's what happened from there.
I was a little gun shy after the other incidences, so I decided to play it very safe. I backed the timing to 5* base, boost to 16psi and backed up to a 70 shot.
While staging I did a somewhat light dry hop which pulled the wheels about 8-9 inches so I thought I was good to go. I staged up and blew the tires off on the initial snap. Then as it hooked it started slowly lifting the drivers wheel and then up again on the 1-2 shift. It laid down a little so I clicked the nitrous off at the 1000ft mark.....so here's the time slip
60': 1.84
330: 4.897
1/8: 7.474
MPH: 95.92
1000 9.679
1/4: 11.598
MPH: 116.73
Next run, I did swap TFIs but made no real changes other than trying to get it to hook and get a clean pass on the 70shot. The TFI I put on must have been bad because the car fell on its face and damn near cut off at the top of 3rd. then sputtered in 4th.
Still spun like crazy

We were running out of time so I figured I was ready to go into kill mode(with stinger on the phone saying..."yeah go ahead try it now"). I set the timing to 7*, boost to 17psi, switched to the 125 shot, and let some air out of the tires. Seemed to hook and A/F was pretty close so we were set. I jump in and as I'm headed to staging there was a wreck on the track that closed the entire place. A fox body mustang hit the wall at the 1/8 going an estimated 120mph and broke/knocked over two sections of interlocking jersey walls......
so there my car sits...now what?
