I will be starting my floorpan and toeboard replacement on my 66 coupe and I will be boxing in my toeboard area with pieces I will fab myself, anyway I saw a few examples where they welding in plates that tie the framerail to the lip that runs under the fender for the full length of the framerail, (basically creating a torque box that extends to the end of the framerail) Does any body have any experience with this or should I just stick to framerail connectors? It gave the underside a nice clean look ,but if it has no real benefit I can spend my time on other stuff.
Thanks:SNSign: ,

Similar to this, but I have seen some done without the boxed lip.

I would think that the troque box replacements would be stronger than what you are thinking of doing. If you wanted to add additional support great but I think starting with a torque box would be the way to go this things are strong.
