Ok seriously how many times are you guys changing your oil? I've never been able to switch from synthetic to conventional for a year and use the the money to rebuild a transmission.

The price difference is the same. Say you spend $2.50/qt. on dyno oil and it lasts 3k miles. You can spend $5.00/qt on Mobil1 and it can last 6-7k miles. I don't see how it is any cheaper. In fact if you factor in the oil filter you could be saving money.

Wow, 3 1/2-years later. From then and now I’ll state……go with whatever fits your budget. Synthetics are great, but expensive and with the quality of today’s petroleum based oils, you're not going to make a bad decision either way. Regular oil and filter changes are more important that the type of oil you’re running.
