So my little brother gets to drive my mom's vert 03 GT where ever he wants and back and forth to school. He's a Junior in h.s. :notnice:

Well my mom just called me and let me know he f'ed it up real bad somehow and wont tell anyone how. They took it to a dealership and found the frame is bent to hell in the back. The vert 1/4 windows wont close without overlapping with the passenger windows and the passenger door wont close without a gap or slamming it shut. There's some scratches on the trunk lid too. She said the dealership said they can't do anything and suggested unloading it.

So what can my parents do now? What would the car be worth? What can you even do with it? They're talking like its just junked now. :(

My little brother doesnt seem to be fessing up to anything but it seems like he got rearended or backed into something really bad. Its such a shame because that car was so nice. Mineral grey ( ), grey leather, grey top, bullit wheels, auto. it was such a nice cruiser car. IMO i'm not so sure he really shouldve been driving it in the first place. I dont think he's ever really driven anything but that car since he's had his licence and maybe it was just a matter of time till something stupid happened.

Is the car drivable? Not much you really can do with it then except either drive it and just suck it up or claim it on your insurance and if they total it out go buy something else. Is the car paid off? Do they have GAP Insurance?

Either way your brother should fess up:nonono:

If the frame is bent, **** it. It will cost too much money and time to fix it when the car is a dime a dozen. I would like to see some pictures for sure though, I like seeing wreaked cars lol. Get the story out of your brother too, I wonder what he did...

i think its wierd that the 1/4 window wont go up or down or whatever. other than that it looks like either one of his underclassman friends did something stupid to it or he spun it out and hit something backwards....

needs to fess up. if i was your mother, id be pissed that he wont even tell the truth. he deserves to be in a civic if he cant be honest...

edit: or if the backend isnt wrecked, somehow he could have gotten it airborne, or somethign like that. thats the only way i can see the frame getting bent without actually wrecking it.

I work for an insurance company..... how much is owed on the vehicle? Does the vehicle have collision and comprehensive coverage? If it does call your company and file a claim....insurance covers stupidity!

dealership just wants to put it on a frame machine and/or resell it at auction make a few Gs on it. I wouldnt go that route. Get in touch with your insurance company and have an adjuster look at it with a reputable body shop.

looks like your bro wont be driving the mustang ever again- suckaahhh

I'd call a few body shops an ask how much to throw it on the frame rack...If they're not doing a claim they may do it cheaper for cash (less headacke). Option b: next time some one is tailgating you in the car, slam the brakes an claim a squarl ran out in front of you, problem solved!

It can be fixed, although it will never be the same. Don't let the dealer "offload" it for you, they will lowball you like no other, fix it and sell it and unless it's gone through insurance it will never show as wrecked. See what the insurance wants to do, then go from there. In the mean time, beat your brother sencless. Yes, he might be family, but keep in mind the Mustang Family is important too. Even the mob off's thier own kin over stuff like that. :D

Strippt88, that I had to put in my sig! :nice:

i'm not sure but i doubt they owe anything on it still and i'm sure they've got they works as far as insurance.

thats what my (and my parents) thinking is...it'll never be perfect again. Sadly, he isnt telling. My mom was calling me at like 9am when she found out....she was sad as hell and new i would be too. My stepdad bought the car as a suprise mothers day or bday gift to her back when it was new. I was never "allowed" to drive it, but she'd let me when my stepdad was away :) or on special occasions like prom or hawt dates(:D o man...).

Honestly my ma was into mustangs as much as me...she's been known to follow a nice fox, cobra or classic in her gt just to snap a phone pic and send it to me. Its so sad we're both pissed at him.

She mentioned getting it quoted and giving it to me. She'd loan me the $$ and i'd pay her back. I doubt i could do that as nice as it sounds though. I'm having trouble as it is sometimes making ends meet with my 93, college, rent, etc. i'd be screwed if i took on something that big. Not to mention i really dont wanna have to owe her any more money....
