Mongoose in but runs PIG rich

sucks about the tune, but like said before, its awesome that he's manning up to it and fixing the problem. great knowing that there are people out there who stand behind their work/products.

Good luck man, be patient; the boost is worth the wait :D

I can't wait to get this thing on the road guys. It just sucks that for my first ever big project on the car I run into a snag like this. It'll make me weary to do anything of this calibre ever again.

Tim should get the tuner tomo and back to me by Thursday. I'll have her on the dyno Saturday morning. :)

Maybe I'll eventually have her dyno tuned depending on what she puts down and how the a/f looks on the dyno. I'd like to see 11.1-11.5 on the dyno and I'd like to put down 350 like I said.

The tune being corrupt, is just something that happens once in a while. If you work around computers long enough you know what I mean. At least you got it figured out. You might try to get a return on the MAF, you aren't going to have much luck selling it for $200, I pick up mine brand new for $80.

Tim has always stood behind what his shop does. They built their shop an a great rep and intend to keep it.

Every problem I have had they have fixed it. Tim is a stand up guy. That goes for the rest of them as well.

Glad you're in better spirits about the whole thing now ;) haha That's a pretty good estimate of where you'll be power wise too!

;) glad i helped sorta kinda pointing out vacuum leak haha.

Nice looking SE-R! A definate sleeper :nice: .

Man eric, glad you narrowed it down...didnt Tim say that he had that happen 2 times in the past 4 years? WOW talk about luck of the draw! Tims an awsome guy though...he will fix you up :)

Yea, I know Tim will stand behind this and get me running in no time.

Benny, you deff helped us find the leak. Stupid IAT wasn't secure enough and we were getting sick ass leak. Now we are fine. Thanks!

Hotmustang, welcome to my world. I always get crapped on like this. lol. ANd yes, the SE-R is a sick sleeper.

Id change the oil and filter after you get the correct tune in, and before you take it out to see what shes got.

Im sure there is alot more gas in the oil than there should be if it was using that much unburnt fuel. You really dont want that lubricating (turns into washing) your engine...:nice:

I was just gonna say that. Drain the oil, pull the plugs & put a few drops of oil into each cylinder, replace plugs, refil oil. This will ensure proper sealing and prevent gasoline from washing down the cylinder walls.

edit - I'd say check to see if there is gas in the oil first before putting the oil drops down the plug wells, you may or may not need to do that.

couple of things.
1. sure is nice to see a shop and a guy stand up behind their product. We all know there needs to be more of that.
2. Glad it's an easy fix (if not quick).
3. I agree change the oil and filter.
4. Let us know what she puts down. :D

in your Nissan SE-R, does that "R" part give you 20 horsepower? :D haha kidding.

Haha! Only as much horsepower as each of those prancing pony badges adds to all of your Mustangs :flag:

This is definitely getting done. First thing I checked last night was the condition of the oil. Its a little watered down and has a tinge of a gassy smell to it. Either way, the car isn't going anywhere without some fresh oil.

I too, am glad that Tim is working to get this car on the road. It sucks that we put in so much troubleshooting time even though I knew I did everything correctly...it even made me doubt any sign of mechanical knowledge that I had. Either way, new spark plugs is a nice gesture, I guess.

Thank you kindly. Its fun messing around with the big boys and seeing them scratch their heads when they can't beat the snot out of an old economy car. Some people take it in stride, others are dicks and give me the finger.

And here are a few more shots....

Unfortunately, no money shot under the hood. It's too dirty to take a picture of it in there since I drive it 25,000+ miles a year

*UPDATE*

It was a software hiccup. The tune was corrupt. I'm overnighting my X-Cal to Tim today and I SHOULD get it back Thursday or Friday. Tim has appologized for the issue and is sending me new plugs and paying for the overnighting. Very respectful business they are running over there.

I'm just glad it wasn't something we F'ed up. My only complaint is that I went out and spent $200 on a LMAF that I didn't need. Anyone looking to buy a brand new 90mm LMAF? LOL!

As long as I've been a mod here and through the countless threads I've read here and on other forums, I've never read a bad word spoken about Tim nor his business.

If I lived there, I'd surely be a customer of his. :nice:

Damn living on an island, damn it.

I'm not with my car at the moment. I'm still at work but my buddy who has the car right now put the Mongoose tune in and he said she's running f'ing awesome! He said she sounds gorgeous! GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!!!

VIDS AND PICS TO COME TONIGHT!!!
