Hey, I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with all this supercharger stuff, and keep running into dilemmas after dilemmas.

First question- Is Paxton much better than Vortech? The prices on the Mongoose Kits seem to be getting better and better and the Paxton is about $500 more than the Vortech. Any ideas why that may be? How much power would an 8-9 psi kit make??

I am pretty sure I want to get the Kenne Bell 9psi, but I'm in Cali, so I'll have to pay taxes (about 8%) on a $6k product from Cali based KB. If I get a kit from out of state (which I can't do with KB), ill escape that...im pretty sure.

I like the idea of instant boost and a BEAUTIFUL torque curve, but it's getting to the point where it would be WAY smarter and economical to get a Mongoose Kit, some gears, and a higher stall to supercharge. The taxes ill be paying on the KB alone, will be enough to offset gears. Any thoughts on this?

I WILL be ordering THIS month, so if anyone with any ideas/opinions/facts/thoughts, it would be GREATLY appreciated!!

i have the same situation, but since i already have gears and a big stall, i'm leaning towards the paxton. Don't feel like having super traction issues with my mods and the KB. the vortech kit is real nice also, but the paxton gives a lot more room for growth. since cars are rolling of the showroom floor with 500hp, i'm sure that in a year or so i will want to go up to 600+ and the S-trims don't allow that. I whether go big now so i don't have to upgrade later. Overall, my vote is for the 8-9psi paxton novi2000.

How do you like the 3000 stall and gears? Was there i big difference in performance? Any thoughts about them?

i think the combination is very good. much of my driving is done on the street with a trip to the track about once a month. The gears alone made my mustang feel like a real sports car, and since i envisioned a supercharger in the future and do a good bit of highway driving, 3.73s were perfect. The addition of the stall I feel has pros and cons. first of all, normal driving is affected by a stall, at least with 3000 and above although people will say it isn't. Granted, the difference is not really that big, but i don't like being told that there is no difference when there really is. my normal city driving keeps my rpms between 1800-2200 when my auto shifts since i'm not an aggressive driver. I feel that this driving style is shared by many. When i'm poking around town, the car actually feels slightly more sluggish than stock and you can here a slight whine from the converter. however, when you get on it the converter will lock up at your stall speed and your car shoots out of the hole. the converter makes launching real nice. you can defenitaley feel the difference, and plus it is cool to see your rpms jump up extremely fast. gives your auto the feel of dumping the cluth in a manual. i think the converter is also needed with a supercharger as you will immediately be in the chargers power band. For me this was a very good and noticeable mod.
