Has anyone heard of Monster transmission & Performance (good and bad), I was thinking of either getting the non-intercooled kb supercharger (proven power) or the torktech kit with my bonus. On the other hand, get a beefy auto for the future supercharged power. My Automatic has over 150k on it so I think I need to address that first.

I was thinking about swapping to a stick but I think this would be cheaper and overall better way to go. What do you think, your advice is always appreciated greatly.:D

Yes, the AOD is a strong transmission, but the clutches and bands DO WEAR. With 150k miles, there is a very good posiblity that the shifts will be soggy and issues will start very quickly after installing the blower. That's a lot of additional torque and the transmission already has a lot of miles. However, you'll just have to try it and see. If this is your daily driver and you need it to get to work, you should probably plan to replace the transmission before doing the work. If you can stand to be stranded without loosing something important, like a job, wife, ect then replace it when it starts acting up. Also, a stock transmission with improved shifts should hold the power just fine.

I would agree with flightmstr, those trannys are strong but as you mentioned it does have alot of miles on it. Typically the clutches in those things breakdown after about 100k or so. You can probably expect to have to rebuild that thing pretty soon.

Regarding the guys at monster transmission, I have not purchased from them yet, but have spoken with them several times and have seen them on SPEED and the powerblock. Here's a link I just googled, Monster Transmissions 1-800-708-0087 < Video Playlist | Embedr

They have been very professional on the phone and they definately know what they're talkin about.

Something else you can check, is the fluid on the trans. See if its a dark brown or nice cherry red. The darker the fluid, the closer that thing is to taking a cr@p. :D
